I need to check out Ben Folds. I've seen some youtube videos of him, and he is a SICK pianist. Having played piano myself for some years, that really appeals to me. But how is his songwriting? He isn't a John Mayer type, is he (great technical skills, but power-pop songs that make you want to kill people)?
Ben Folds is a pretty amazing song writer. His stuff does have a "pop" sound to it, but it's really just his voice. His lyrics make sense, they aren't super serious, but they're not stupid either. Compare him to Barenaked Ladies, but tone down the pop quite a bit.
What kind of music do you like? And get Win7 already...

As far as music tastes, I lean towards acoustic and bands that use more instruments than just a standard lead-guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, and drums. Examples would be: Jack Johnson, DMB, Ben Kweller, Ben Harper, Ben Folds, Jason Mraz, Sublime.
But I have varying tastes, so I also listen to delta blues, classic rock, hard rock, and even some bluegrass on occasion (yeah, get it in, I'm from Kentucky, you think I'm a hillbilly, I get it by now Drew...
).
