Those are tough numbers, buddy. Three males to every female? I can sympathize with you a bit because the Air Force was similar. Eventually I completely gave up on dating any of my colleagues and only chased civilians, but then this becomes a problem because you feel different among civilian females and their friends.

ya, it does. It's very tough in the organization. There are quite a lot who have married other members, but you realize that those have to stand out, because any hot chicks in the Force are getting attention from guys All The Time. And I'm obviously not the sort who stands out.
As for civilians, I can't make the job work for me unless:
a) she asks what I do, and is impressed; or
b) I say what I do, and she is impressed.
In contrast, if I actually worked uniform work, I would probably attract more women just because of that. Instead, paradoxically, because I am in a Badass plainclothes unit, no one knows what I do unless I am in a position to tell them.
