ESPN sure is hyping this while creating a "is LeBron mentally done?" narrative, of course after overplaying the "is LeBron still injured?" narrative not too long ago. He had one bad game. The game before was pretty amazing, but since it wasn't 40 points or something the media dismissed it.

Stuff like this makes me glad I don't have cable

Sports Media is even more low grade than the already bad traditional media. They are completely about manufacturing narratives.

That being said none of that is needed for tonights game. This is a legit potentially career changing game.

Anyone who thinks Lebron has been purposefully tanking the last game and this coming game is fucking idiotic – tonight is going to be a close game because Lebron is going to go off tonight.  He can't have two back to back terrible games.

He looked frustrated. Guarding Rondo was also a bad idea. Rondo going to torch anyone for multiple games. Pierce on the other hand can and will. I didn't see the entire game, did they even make the defensive adjustment? If not chalk that up as another reason why Brown needs to go

Not really.  I thought Lebron should've guarded Rondo for the first quarter and than possibly if he got hot in the second half, but nothing else.  Pierce ended up getting fairly hot, so Lebron should've gone back to him.  The one that killed them was Allen, he fucking made it rain.  Someone has to step up to guard him.

It's not like Kobe has been all that great these playoffs, but Lebron the last two games was absolutely dismal.  Triple double or not.

I refuse to enter GAF's NBA thread, the jizz would be far too great.

So, Cleveland, here's what you do.

-Offer Lebron crazy money to sign him to another contract
-Fire Mike Brown
-Pick up some great free agents during the off season
-Pick up a worthwhile big that ISN'T SHAQ

also, I'm now rooting for the Suns.  Steve Nash and Amare :bow2

Sure, why not?  Wade has expressed interest for LeBron, and besides Beasley, they don't really have a great forward selection.

I haven't seen a team give up like that in some time. Granted the game was out of hand, and we all complain about a final NBA minute really being five minutes, but you don't just sit back and let the other team do whatever. That was pathetic.

Go to Miami, LeBron.

If I am Lebron, I wouldn't put going to a young team out of my realm of choices. He's still young. The Cavs best role players are young guys already. It really looked like the veterans who were dead weight in the playoffs.

You keep saying that. NY has room to sign two max free agents and possibly more. Boston won in 2008, the first year Garnett and Allen arrived in town, and none of the Big Three were a patch on LeBron or Bosh at that point in their careers, never mind now. Cleveland, on the other hand, has committed big money, and no-one wants to go there. They get some cap relief from Shaq but what are they going to do with it to push them over the edge? It's exactly what happened to the Raptors with Carter - tons of money invested for years in marginal role players.

Chicago makes a TON of sense to me. Rose, Noah, plenty of good pieces like Deng and Heinrich to either trade or build on. They could potentially sign two max free agents as well, AND it's a major media market.

To be fair I would have picked the exact same before each series.

I started to get really skeptical though once the actual Boston series began and I saw the same flaws from the prior year. Especially in the third and 4th quarter.

Like it was mentioned earlier in the thread I think it was simply a case of a great player elevating a group of average or below average players. But once the playoffs set in and things crank up, those average players get exposed.

I meant more in the sense that if they want a job, they can keep it. Larry Brown is a weirdo though. He's bounced around coaching his entire career.

Yeah.  I initially thought he might be a good fit in Cleveland, but assuming Lebron stays, I remembered there were some issues between them in the 2004 Olympics...maybe they could iron it out, I don't know.

I nominate Del Nigro because he only got fired because he punched a dude.  The guy made Chicago a decent playoff contender in his two years there, and seemed like an able coach.  Much better than Mike Roker Brown.

Him or if by chance Calipari decides to go into the NBA.  That won't happen, though.

Maybe Woodson?  But really though, him and Mike Brown are interchangeable.

it didn't help that Lebron was a big reason as the why they lost this series, mixed in with horrible coaching.  Get a better coach and some good free agents, and you're right back to a 60 win season.

But yeah, Noah and Rose and Lebron together could prove to be pretty unstoppable.

If by chance Lebron leaves Cleveland, I just hope they can secure a top free agent to try and replace him.  Maybe Wade.  I would hate to have to root for my Cavs with Mo Williams as their leader  :-\

I actually like this idea... it's the best fit w/ the best players that can afford him Imo.

Either Bron or Wade in Chicago would be sweet.
