I think something weird is going on with the place next door.
We moved into our condo about a year and a half ago. For whatever reason, the place next door has changed owners four times now- The first resident was an elderly lady who would just look at you, shake her head, and mosey on back inside. Guess she got too old and her family moved her out. The place then went to much younger woman who spent like two weeks renovating the place, around the clock, and then disappeared. Turns out she got a job across the country and up and sold the place. The guy who followed was there the longest, but he too disappeared for long stretches of time before he finally put the place up for sale.
Never saw who actually bought the place. One weekend we see a heavyset, rotund lady in unflattering spandex moving a few items in. We go to talk to her and she acts oddly distant/nervous and says that her in-laws are going to be moving in the following weekend. She comes and goes throughout the week, then disappears-- nobody moves in. Never saw her husband, either. Then another week later, a moving truck comes by and they bring a bunch of stuff in. Still, nobody is there. A week later and another moving truck comes in-- different company. It was hard to tell if they were moving stuff in or out. Just weird.
Then in the past week, we've been seeing a woman with a kid going in and out of the place. No way this is the other lady's mother-in-law. Odder still, the woman will drop the kid off and then come back hours later, get him, and leave-- nobody seems to ever be there at night.
When I come home in the afternoon, I can hear movement coming from below, but there's no cars outside and the kid couldn't possibly be there since school has already started. If it is the fabled in-laws, then they literally never go outside ever and have no way to get around. My theory right now is that this place is being rented out or used as some kind of air bnb thing...which is not allowed in this complex. I dunno. Would at least explain why the heavyset woman seemed so hesitant to talk to us.
