I find the recent "controversy" around how Epipens have gone up in price by 800% in the last few years funny.

"The price went up you say?! Oh no! How could this happen here? In America no less! I am shocked that a life saving medicine would have a high price in a country with free market healthcare."

The weird part is how there was a competitive product, and yet it fell on his face and it's no longer in production.

Power went down in my building at work this morning. I was lucky enough to at least get into the parking deck before the gates stopped working, but then the elevators and access card locks all went down, leaving everybody stuck. Sat in the lobby for 45-50 minutes before one elevator started working (lol) and am now in the office. Most of the power is back on and network connections are back up, but all our internal stuff including phones and Email are down so I literally can't do anything but mess around on sites like this one.

Finally renewed my PMP credentials. It was sorta funny though. I spent all this time carefully tracking all my training and PMP activities to account and report to the PMI and when I did they were like "Yeah yeah yeah. Did you pay the fee?" Once I paid the fee they were like "Congratulations! You've renewed your PMP credentials!"

We use it in my company all the time honestly. Do I use what I learned? No, I already knew how to run a project, all the PMP does is it says you know what the PMI calls those activities. But all the time we drop the PMP letters to get us in the door or shut out competition. "Yeah, but do they have a PMP? We do."
But I have to agree, if I wasn't consulting, there'd be little to no point.

He makes some idle chit-chat and asked what I'd get for a new home PC, telling me that someone else in the IT department recommended an iMac for him, but it's $2700 at Best Buy and he doesn't want to spend that kind of money. Also his kids like to play games and they have an ASUS gaming PC. I recommend some gaming desktops I found, all in the $900-$1800 range. He says those are too expensive and will probably get the iMac instead. And then he says he doesn't care about games.

Here's a little hint for team bore. Never ever ask IT what computer you should purchase as they either

1) Will reference some fucking powerhouse you absolutely don't need.

2) Are 99% Windows bigots. (Which makes your situation strange)

3) They like talking about their job as much as you do, stop bothering them, there is a firewall down somewhere they are trying to fix.

Most people choose their car and electronics based on what looks the best and is at the very top of their price range. And then they put a case on it or whine about how it doesn't run their programs or always has to go to the shop. And if you're a woman or minority they'll aggressively try to sell you their own bullshit overpriced insurance plan on it.

That's why I always start off by saying "oh yeah that one that you're thinking of looks really good!" and they quickly turn the subject to technical specs and I say that the factors that I look for in your usage case are yadda yadda yadda and I'd only buy it after researching the best deal on dealsea, Edmunds, etc.

Having a Costco membership makes this all significantly easier.

Had a dream last night that someone hit my motorcycle at a gas station. I somehow got it home and up on a jack to assess the damage. Parts were falling off left and right and i was pissed.
