Two weeks in, and 2017 has declared a blood-feud vendetta against my family.
Obviously, globally and personally, most of us hated the shit out of 2016. I was no different. I was hopeful of 2017 looking up in comparison.
Today, I got a crazy infodump update from my parents.
In the past week alone:
My paternal grandmother blacked out at 3am and got sent to the hospital by ambulance. High blood pressure. At the hospital, they fucked up and gave her double the dosage of medication required, which sent her pulse down to 30 bpm. Still in hospital, pulse a little better.
In the same timeframe, my paternal grandfather (separated for my whole life from my grandmother) also got sent to the hospital ICU for his heart. He's had some heart issues for the past six months. He's scheduled for an angiogram on Monday, and if they identify a blockage, hopefully they can fix it.
The above is a consequence of being blessed with being in my 30s of having all of my grandparents alive. They've all hit 80 years, in relative good health, which is great, but......all good things end, and it seems like they're all having health problems now. Not unexpected.....but still tough.
In the meantime, my two nephews have been really sick for a week, and their parents woke up with sore throats this morning. My sister-in-law lost her job this past Tuesday.
My mother woke up in extreme pain on Thursday. Ribs bulging out of place. Her massage therapist and chiropractor were able to get her feeling okay again, but she's got a lot of back issues adding up since.
My uncle slipped on some ice last night, knocking himself out cold, giving himself a concussion and dislocated shoulder.
My other uncle went for heart tests this week. Not sure of the results other than a faster-than-normal hearbeat.
Fuck you, 2017. This shit is not cool.
