I had a similar experience with my dentist. Awwwwwwkwarrrrrd. 

Oh that's nothing. I once saw one of my employees having drinks with this amazingly hot chick who was 1) Not his wife and 2) most likely an escort. A normal employer would've been like "leave it alone" but not me. I went and was like "Hey! Jerry! How's it going?!" and sat myself down at the table. I had met his wife so he knew that I knew she wasn't his wife. I forced him to introduce me and then I was like "I'm hungry" (it was 11pm probably why he didn't think he'd see me) "Let's get some food." They tried to excuse themselves but I was like "No no no! I INSIST!" I proceed to buy deserts after desert (that's all they were serving) and keep them there until 1am before I was like "OK, I'm going to head up to my room." it had just gotten too awkward by that point. That guy didn't talk to me for a few weeks after that. Pretty damn sure I cost him a few hundred if she was an escort. I paid well over a hundred in just deserts. Worth every penny. Oh and after that the guy started staying in a different hotel. Good that he learned his lesson.

Went to a sleep specialist a few days ago.  Nothing happened on that front; just talked to the doctor and they're going to have me a do a home sleep test to see if it's sleep apnea...in a few weeks.

The doctor was telling me that I'm very clearly a night owl and that my brain is "wired" to stay up later and that me waking up every day at 5:20 AM is just naturally 'hard' on my body.  OK.

"We can't change who we are," he says.  "You can try, but you can't alter the fact that you're a night owl.  If you were to sit out in the sun for hours, you couldn't just become black."

The take home test doesn't do shit. They do it to prove you MIGHT have sleep anea then they will send that to insurance to prove you need a sleep study and they'll do the sleep study stuff.

It makes me laugh that all these grumpy parents that are like "Today's kid's can't deal with anything, are triggered by everything and can't cope with any opposition" Are the same parents that when their kids were growing up would helicopter over them, yell at teachers if they got bad grades, installed apps to make sure they knew where their kids were 100% of the time. Of course they can't act like adults, you never treated them like adults.

So after 4 months or so without a cat, we have home our tow new cats, a brother & sister (white & red, stripes) of 4 months. They were abandoned in a cardboard box in front of a holiday rental. They're very social, seem to be balanced and keep each other company.

I'm happy and a little dumb struck to be honest.

I don't want to inturrpt Atra's success thread, but I do want to post a little bit about where I'm at.

Things are going decently if not very steady. I've been seeing a therapists and while I don't want to talk too much about that I will say it's been ok. I feel a bit more confidence in myself. Its fleeting, but it comes back. It's funny, I know its my mother but even she noticed a little more swagger in how I walk recently and I feel it too. Sometimes when I smell really good(I always smell good), know I've dressed decently, and know I look good I defenaitly walk with a more sure head. It's been happening a lot more recently too. I actually think from time to time I look pretty good. My beard is kind of hot since well I never let it look messy or unclean. I may not have the best hairline, but my hair has a good color, volume, and is general kind of pretty. I know that sounds lame, but its good to take some pride in some shit. Hell, Ive even gotten some positive feedback at school.

As for the girls part it's mostly the same. I haven't come across anyone interesting. Tender has been ok. I've gotten some attractive women to swipe on me. Some of them don't respond, some I don't send anything too, but at least I got a swipe. Hey, good pictures actually do something who knew? I'm not actually interested in meeting someone on Tender to be fair. Besides I'm really more of an in person type ...person. Texting is boring and even then I feel like I have to know you for me to think you can handle my real personality. So I'm pretty boring texting people I don't know, but I think I give off a casual vibe. Anyway, it's not a serious avenue for me and I've gotten decent feedback which at the end of the day is all I wanted.

As for women I do know. Well I went through a spat with my Mexican female friend. I don't want to bore you with the details. It was bad, we made up and are instantly back to normal. I don't know there is something there, not a sure thing, but there is something. I for sure want her, probably more so than any girl I've ever known. Not only physically, but mentally/personality wise too. I don't know why. On paper shes not my type at all, but I don't know we have such good chemistry and I guess she reminds me of my mom?(that is so strange). While we don't at all share hobbies or stuff like that, she is very wild, strong, smart, maybe not book smart, but I don't know. She compliments aspects of me in ways I don't think I've thought about before. And shes very attractive. I wouldn't say I'm in love with this girl, because I don't know what love is(I want you to show me), but I don't think I've ever been this genuinely interested in a girl.

I don't think she feels the same and thats fine. I'm hoping I meet other girls and while it hurts I will survive. Or rather she doesnt feel that way right now. I know she feels something. I mean she talks to me and touches me differently then any other guy I see. We had not an awkward car ride, but a strange one when we came home from drinking. I felt like we both wanted to say something, but did'nt. One of our female friends gave me some positive feedback. Not "oh she wants you to", because I don't think thats it. I dont expect anything to happen. She said she is clearly comfortable being herself around me and she clearly wants me around. Right now she's just looking to have fun and not be in any relationship. Which makes sense because she just got out of one. That is pretty obvious and I don't want to push any relationship. Like I said something is there, we flirt a lot, talk a lot more now, and clearly like each other, but that doesn't mean anything will happen. Which is cool.

So thats where I am at.

Well, one can't fault the Poles with their vodka branding : I'm drinking some Pan Tadeusz which takes its name from a famous poem (it's a recent brand however, apparently launched in the wake of an Andrej Wajda film ?). Two of the most famous brands of white vodka are Chopin and Belvedere. Bottle shaped as Tommy Guns and AKs.

Decent selection of commercial beers too. Can't read the labels but a couple of brands using special recipes or methods.

I'm addicted to the honey vodka liquor.

There was this prescription ad on TV where they said it has "significantly less major bleeding" compared to some other drug.

That still implies there's major bleeding. Just less of it.

Also a side effect could be "fatal bleeding."

I think it was a drug to lower blood pressure, so I guess technically their claims as to that would stand up.

Both are blood thinners so they would have some potential for life threatening bleeds

When I got my first job as a studio musician my boss told me that there were going to be a lot of people coming and going and many would be pricks and conceited and treat you like trash, but the secret was to act like you deserve to belong there, because I had earned that right in being hired and that has served me well throughout my career. Wherever I go, I act like I belong there.

Of course this did backfire once when a member of a certain famous band came in and they were like "Hey Puppy this is Steve." I just non-chalantly looked up and said, "Hey Steve." and went back to what I was doing. The guy said, "Look here you little prick. Don't act all 'cool'. I know you know who I am. Show some damned respect."  I had to laugh, the guy was actually really cool though.

Presenting at conferences has gotten me over my nerves.  I used to shake and tremble when presenting in conference rooms and the last presentation I gave was in a hotel ball room that held several hundred people and it was the most relaxed I've been in a public setting.
