Alll moved into the new place, but there's still some work to be done. Also experiencing some internet issues, which is really fucking annoying. Gonna call up AT&T and bitch if I can't get it resolved by the end of the week.

Plus now that I have a living room of my own, I'm trying to do some streaming and having all sorts of problems. Can't figure out if it's related to the internet problems I'm having or if PS3 Media Server just sucks.

Yeah Himu...my grandfather lives by himself in an assisted-living home, but he still requires some care from relatives. My mother will go out of her way to help him, and another Aunt who lives in another city will come in from time to time to help too, but the other aunt, who lives close by? She doesn't do jack shit, and always tries to get out of taking care of her own father. And we're just talking about stuff like making him dinner, nothing else.

I've been trapped in the ice and snow for two days. I haven't been able to make into work for the past two days. Fortunately my boss is understanding.

When I was in retail hell a decade ago, we had 12" of snowfall and couldn't make it to work. The end result for me was that they cut my hours to just two days a week for a month because they didn't believe I could make it into work either. It was pathetic, so I feel for you The Business.

I'm going to go in and check into a hotel tonight so I can go to work for the next couple of days. I doubt I can actually drive on the street I'm on until Saturday, when it is supposed to get into the 30s.

I'd get dental and medical. You never know when you might need it. Losing a little dough now is better than possibly bankrupting yourself due to health concerns.

There are certain clauses where you can stay on your parent's insurances longer. I think they are school, disabilities or if you are not living on your own. I am not sure of this though.

There is more to it than just being in a wheelchair, at least in the state of Washington. Having a job and employer-provided health insurance would negate eligibility here. Disability services tend to be for those who are unable to work.

I actually deal with the state disability office a whole with my job. They're really cracking down on eligibility due to budget cuts.

Update: Yesterday I said "fuck it" and went right through the ice. Came close to losing control but I made it. I checked into a hotel where I will remain there until Saturday. Tomorrow and Saturday are to be in the mid 30s. So everything should be clear enough for me to go back.

Fortunately my boss was understanding so there were no worries. Like The Business, I had bosses in the past were complete pricks about me being snowed in. I suppose their mentality is that they assume that you're trying to pull a fast one but if you've had great attendance and do a good job, how the fuck they can assume that you're trying to pull some shit because it snows is beyond me. Dumbasses.
