i made a joke at work that wasnt well received. we were talking about a blackberry torch and someone commented how the sliding screen was poorly designed because most people push a slider up from the bottom and that there were buttons there that you're likely gonna accidentally push. so he said that you'd have push it up from this tiny metal sliver at the bottom. his quote was "and you have this tiny slit to press your thumb against which sucks"

so i quipped back "usually a tiny slit isn't a such a bad thing"

and everyone around me immediately understood what i did there

and they didn't like it.

I feel pretty good about studying for my exam at this point. My outlines are done (~70 pages 11pt single space) and I've sort of give up on the idea of RUSH RUSH RUSH SO MUCH TO DO. I mean there is no end. You can't do "everything". There are hundreds of practice 60 mins essays out there, thousands of practice multiple choice, a thousand sample answers, and a million issues they can test you on from 20 subjects that make up 1000 page books each. So at some point you just say fuck it, and do what you can and go take the damn test; That's where I am now and it really cuts down on the stress since there is no deadline to rush to, just do whatever and give it your best.

Will head to my hotel on Monday in Ontario and be back on Thursday night night, and then it's DRINKING THREAD TIME

I'm at a complete crossroads writing a paper. I need the page to be aesthetically pleasing and one large portion of text needs to fill up the page. But I have a gap between it and the point before it, and either I write half a page that doesn't explain much, or I write a page and half that'll end up lingering on a single topic for too long. The worst part is that no one will notice the work I've gone through to make the paper look nice from a distance, partly because it's page 9 of 20. Forever alone and cursed with the need to make text look pretty on paper. You'll feel it move on page 14.

So in Canada, you HAVE to put CC info in to the Itunes store to even register an account. So you can't even say, pull album artwork down without using CC info. So I told my friend who is an Apple die hard this and he got so fucking mad, it was hilarious.

I remember my friend raging about this a while back. I think I read on GAF before that you can get around that by creating an account by trying to download one of the free apps on iTunes and proceeding that way. Not sure if that works for Canadian accounts or not.

I'm an indexer and my job is pretty much copy and paste numbers, after I'm done with all the accounts I need to check each and everyone of them again to see that all the numbers are the same then print everything and confirm again.

I just realized that I have no dvd burner to burn my windows 7 iso with

So I either have to
1) switch out my new dvd drive into a old computer first to burn the thing
2) install ubuntu first and mount the iso then run it from the harddrive, which I'm not sure I can even do

edit: Looks like microsoft is considerate of people with no dvd writable drives and no friends to help them
