Sadly, most of the best gourmet restaurants are in the Bay Area. However, So-Cal has some decent Asian restaurants which should be good news for a whitey who is more used to Asian cuisines.

Check out the Vietnamese restaurants in Westminster, which is not far from Irvine. A former VC roomate told me that they're 100% authentic. I'd imagine Viet is one of the few cuisines that aren't so commonly found in Japan. There's also a Fry's in that area so that you can kill two birds with one stone.

not hard to find Vietnamese in Tokyo. It's not common, but it's there for sure. Thing is, we only have 3 days left here, and we have evening plans for 2 of them. The need to spend more is furious though - we're getting a huge discount on everything with this exchange rate.

The "fixed price" of an Air is still influenced by this INSANE yen rate right now. That's why I bought my Air in the USA (though I also benefited from a 15% employee purchase discount).

I compared prices last night and it seems about 10,000 yen cheaper in the US. Is that worth being lumbered with a US warranty? Or does Apple not care.

Any of you know about CCNY (The City College of New York)?

Considering going for my masters.

Tuition for full time grad student is $3,865 per Semester. Part time is $325 per credit hour.

I'd prefer going to Queens College, but they have no graduate program on digital media.

Meanwhile, Rochester Institute of Technology and CCNY fit the bill.

I'm looking at CCNY's site. RIT seems like a better bet because I'm hard of hearing and that means tuition will be considerably lower with NTID program (around 12k a semester, which is pretty good).

As you'd imagine there are plenty of tickets available, all over the arena. I think my buddy will be up for it but it might be tight timing. He'd have to pick me up on the way, and he usually works fairly late. May as well give it a shot though, it's gonna be an age before I'm back in the US. John Wall hasn't been that great for a while due to injury but maybe he's better now.

The team, and even those two guys, might not actually play well, but there's always a chance of seeing something almost nobody else in the league could do.

I've watched them maybe 5 times this year. Yeah, those two are interesting but Andray Blatche is so depressing. And they are all just clueless most of the time. And surely they are just playing out the string at this point.

I think we might be able to make it though. I am the sort of diehard that can find pleasure in literally any NBA game, even a Bucks-Nets blowout on a Tuesday night in December. If we do, we'll probably stay over at a hotel near there to get ready for the flight out. Could work.

Apple does not care. Their warrantee is international, so you can bring your US Mac to any Apple Store in Japan.

game is tonight, getting excited now. The Wizards only scored 59 pts in their last game though :'( Maybe they'll bounce back and put up a fight, but probably not. Those guys are all beaten down and hopeless-looking, with the possible exception of Wall. Bibby was probably right to give up $6 million not to play for them next year.

It's more than one sixty now. And yes, In-N-Out is good for the price but it isn't even the best fast-food burger. Fatburger certainly tastes better and even Carl's JR got a few better burgers.

Getting a 6x6 for the first time was pretty amazing though. Too bad, INO has since set the limit at 4x4.

Holy shit, I'm coughing up steaks of blood in my spit. I just had bronchitis a few weeks back and freaking the fuck out. The blood streaks has been going on for about a month but only when it came down to mucous from the nose and I recently had nose surgery so that made sense. So ive been usin saline for the past few weeks and its been helping. when I went to the doc he was all "well, sometimes when you sneeze or cough too hard you irritate it a bit which can result in bleeding." which I'm sure was bullshit at the time but trusted his words.

I'm going to go in for a second opinion. This sucks ass and I'm scared as shit.
