G, you're dad began dating or he's getting married?

He just started dating again after being in a long term relationship for 8 years. Sadly my dad has issues with monogamy so we'll see how long this relationship lasts. His last relationship lasted for almost 8 years and they went through so much. He was the third wheel in a loveless marriage. When the daughter (severely handicapped with a horrible disorder) of his girlfriend passed things changed, then the husband passed and she couldn't stand my dad's sleeping around anymore. At least he didn't get married in that time, he needed a break after his second marriage was a monumental failure in which he left my mother and I.

I'm just so happy that she's not pregnant, cause that first picture freaked me the fuck out. It's all about the angle and how you compose yourself!

So I'm taking accounting this quarter, and it's like a foreign language. Debits increase assets... I never would have guessed that in a million years. This shit is crazy. More than once I've wanted to message Triumph for advice.

You either hate it or love it.

I went into the tax side of accounting, if that tells you what kind sick, twisted person I am. As if financial accounting wasnt soul sucking enough. Have fun!

Kind of a tangent but I have a trans friend in Monterey where there's an army language school and thus a lot of military people. She says that there's a large overlap between MTF trans and army guys dating each other which she believes has to do with one group trying to be very feminine and the other very masculine so that could explain a social reason for why they don't want trans people serving? That they believe you might not have the right mindset to integrate into an army.
This sounds asinine. I'm not trying to be anything. I have my estrogen, that's woman enough for me. At least until they start doing uterine transplants, anyways. If this is a serious problem, though, I can see how that could color the perception of transpeople in the military.

Mind you, I'm pulling this all out of my ass so you should really ask a recruiter if you want a straight (pun intended) answer. The more logical reason probably has to do with the transition process causing complications that affect physical fitness in some way.
It doesn't.

Bongs were made to be broken. I mean, it's pretty much a given that they will be fucked. That's one of the reason I never got why pot nerds would drop 300+ on illadelphs and shit with a million percs and designs and ice catchers and all that. I've seen one of those bongs break like 3 weeks after someone bought one.

Yeah, I've always spent less than a hundred on any bong because they're bound to break sometime :'( I just get local glass. Probably won't get another one for awhile.

Guess it's the steam roller tonight :pimp

joints > bongs.
This is seriously absurd. You end up wasting weed in a joint and smoke trailing right into my eyes from the cherry is never fun. I typically use a pipe for portability, but bongs are essential if you want to get high enough to achieve escape velocity.

Joints look pretty fucking cool though.

Joints -- somewhat wasteful but deliciously thick smoke. I roll em with filters to minimize the waste. French inhaling, smoke rings/tricks are an awesome way to get lit while trying to perfect them.
Vapes -- lovely fun, most efficient. I've had a couple. One stem/hose type that the temperature regulator went out on so it burns my shit now. Also have a magic flight box, simple elegant design great for travel.
Bongs -- water filtration and good economy of use. Nightly go to.
Pipes -- quality glass or bust. Steam rollers are fun for that big, quick inhale.
Blunts -- I'm just not a fan of tobacco with my weed, but they're awesome for sharing and shot gunning.
Edibles -- god tier high, lasts longer but takes longer to take affect.

I tried to rank them and couldn't. Vapes are awesome, but sometimes I need real smoke. Joints are amazing but I love a deep bubbling noise from a bong. I've never been higher than on goodies I baked with cannabutter. Guys, I just like pot.

I hate rolling since it's too much time and effort and is wasteful. I would basically just use a pipe and then follow with a few djarum cigarettes. Once they make hybrid weed and tobacco ecigs, then I think I will be an old man who can tell kids how easy they have it.

I haven't smoked weed in awhile, but I'm thinking of getting a little pipe and picking up a half-eighth or something like that.

Yeah I always smoked at least one gram at a time but I never really liked getting stoned more than once a week, which makes even an eighth seem like not enough but then takes me like a month to get through.

http://gothamist.com/2013/10/11/cattle_prods_extortion_rabbis_alleg.php

The FBI raided synagogues and homes in ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities in Brooklyn and Monsey, New York on Wednesday night, arresting ten men—two of them rabbis—who were allegedly part of a wild kidnapping, torture and extortion scheme. According to federal prosecutors, the head of a Monsey yeshiva, Rabbi Mordechai “Martin” Wolmark, and nine others kidnapped and tortured as many as 24 Orthodox Jewish men to force them to agree to a divorce with their wives.

Jewish tradition requires a woman to obtain a ritual divorce, or "get," from her husband before she can remarry in the faith. But some husbands can prove recalcitrant, and Wolmark and his cohorts allegedly helped women get the get by beating it out of their husbands. Prosecutors say they were paid handsomely for their efforts, in most cases charging upwards of $80,000.

"They didn’t do it out of religious conviction,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Gribko told a judge yesterday. "They did it for money. Frankly, even if it was about religion, you shouldn’t be able to torture people to get them to do things."

One victim told the Daily News that Wolmark's alleged partner, Rabbi Mendel Epstein, and his henchmen brutally tortured him into granting a divorce: "They forced it (the get) on me. They busted my fingers, busted my ribs. They kept me handcuffed. These gets aren’t kosher. They force it. It destroyed me."

According to the criminal complaint, Epstein and his associates used an electric cattle prod to get results. The weapon was preferred because it wouldn't leave a mark—Epstein allegedly believed police would be less likely to investigate if a victim without visible bruises reported the crime. "Basically the reaction of the police is, if the guy does not have a mark on him then, uh, is there some Jewish crazy affair here," Epstein allegedly said to an undercover FBI agent. "They don’t want to get involved.”

"Basically what we are going to be doing is kidnapping a guy for a couple of hours and beating him up and torturing him and then getting him to give the get." Epstein allegedly told the undercover FBI agent, adding that he would "take an electric cattle prod [and] put it in certain parts of his body and in one minute the guy will know."

The little-told story of the massive WWII pet cull
By Alison Feeney-Hart BBC News Magazine

At the beginning of World War II, a government pamphlet led to a massive cull of British pets. As many as 750,000 British pets were killed in just one week. This little-discussed moment of panic is explored in a new book.

The cull came as the result of a public information campaign that caused an extraordinary reaction among anxious Britons.

In the summer of 1939 just before the outbreak of war, the National Air Raid Precautions Animals Committee (NARPAC) was formed. They drafted a notice - Advice to Animal Owners.

The pamphlet said: "If at all possible, send or take your household animals into the country in advance of an emergency." It concluded: "If you cannot place them in the care of neighbours, it really is kindest to have them destroyed."

The advice was printed in almost every newspaper and announced on the BBC. It was "a national tragedy in the making", says Clare Campbell, author of new book Bonzo's War: Animals Under Fire 1939 -1945.

Campbell recalls a story about her uncle. "Shortly after the invasion of Poland it was announced on the radio that there might be a shortage of food. My uncle announced that the family pet Paddy would have to be destroyed the next day."

After war was declared on 3 September 1939, pet owners thronged to vets surgeries and animal homes.

"Animal charities, the PDSA, the RSPCA and vets were all opposed to the killing of pets and very concerned about people just dumping animals on their doorsteps at the start of the war," says historian Hilda Kean.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home opened its doors in 1860 and survived both wars. "Many people contacted us after the outbreak of war to ask us to euthanise their pets - either because they were going off to war, they were bombed, or they could no longer afford to keep them during to rationing," a spokesman says.

"Battersea actually advised against taking such drastic measures and our then manager Edward Healey-Tutt wrote to people asking them not to be too hasty."

But Campbell cites an Arthur Banks of the RSPCA who, "gloomily pronounced that the primary task for them all would be the destruction of animals".

In the first few days of war, PDSA hospitals and dispensaries were overwhelmed by owners bringing their pets for destruction. PDSA founder Maria Dickin reported: "Our technical officers called upon to perform this unhappy duty will never forget the tragedy of those days."

In Memoriam notices started to appear in the press. "Happy memories of Iola, sweet faithful friend, given sleep September 4th 1939, to be saved suffering during the war. A short but happy life - 2 years, 12 weeks. Forgive us little pal," said one in Tail-Wagger Magazine.

The first bombing of London in September 1940 prompted more pet owners to rush to have their pets destroyed.

Many people panicked, but others tried to restore calm. "Putting your pets to sleep is a very tragic decision. Do not take it before it is absolutely necessary," urged Susan Day in the Daily Mirror.

But the government pamphlet had sowed a powerful seed.

"People were basically told to kill their pets and they did. They killed 750,000 of them in the space of a week - it was a real tragedy, a complete disaster," says Christie Campbell, who helped write Bonzo's War.

Historian Hilda Kean says that it was just another way of signifying that war had begun. "It was one of things people had to do when the news came - evacuate the children, put up the blackout curtains, kill the cat."

It was the lack of food, not bombs, that posed the biggest threat to wartime pets. There was no food ration for cats and dogs.

But many owners were able to make do. Pauline Cotton was just five years old at the time and lived in Dagenham. She remembers "queuing up with the family at Blacks Market in Barking to buy horsemeat to feed the family cat".

And even though there was just four staff at Battersea, the home managed to feed and care for 145,000 dogs during the course of the war.

In the middle of the pet-culling mayhem, some people tried desperately to intervene. The Duchess of Hamilton - both wealthy and a cat lover - rushed from Scotland to London with her own statement to be broadcast on the BBC. "Homes in the country urgently required for those dogs and cats which must otherwise be left behind to starve to death or be shot."

"Being a duchess she had a bit of money and established an animal sanctuary," says historian Kean. The "sanctuary" was a heated aerodrome in Ferne. The duchess sent her staff out to rescue pets from the East End of London. Hundreds and hundreds of animals were taken back initially to her home in St John's Wood. She apologised to the neighbours who complained about the barking.

But at a time of such uncertainty, many pet owners were swayed by the worst-case scenario.

"People were worried about the threat of bombing and food shortages, and felt it inappropriate to have the 'luxury' of a pet during wartime," explains Pip Dodd, senior curator at the National Army Museum.

"The Royal Army Veterinary Corps and the RSPCA tried to stop this, particularly as dogs were needed for the war effort."

Ultimately, given the unimaginable human suffering that followed over the six years of the war, it is perhaps understandable that the extraordinary cull of pets is not better known.

But the episode brought another sadness to people panicked and fearful at the start of hostilities.

The story is not more widely known because it was a difficult story to tell, says Kean.

"It isn't well known that so many pets were killed because it isn't a nice story, it doesn't fit with this notion of us as a nation of animal lovers. People don't like to remember that at the first sign of war we went out to kill the pussycat," she says.

Wine used to give me the worst hangovers until I started drinking it more often. But I do get terrible hang overs from hard liquor that I never used to. Didn't know 25 would already have me feeling old. At least I still look young, had a lady ask me if I was picking up take out for my mom when my wife called it in :lol
I was at a park the other day with my kid and some other mom asked my son if he was having fun with his big brother  >:(

Jesus, my 360 wireless receiver stopped working... and as such I can't use my controller on my PC anymore  :tocry

And I've never been able to get the PS3 controller to work on my PC....

I never thought I would be in this position.
