Congrats on succeeding where I have failed, Dufus. So far at least. How enviable.

Germany's oldest woman, aged 112 years, just kicked the bucket on Monday. Man, what a life she has had. Two world wars centered on Germany alone, not to mention all the other crap that went down, the split and re-merge of Germany itself, the tech advancements from e.g. (pre-)analogue to digital including computers, mobile phones and the net. She experienced a German monarchy, the Führer, and the horrors and uncertainties of e.g. the Weimar republic. Makes ya think, a hundred years is a damn long time.
To top it off, she had an epic sounding name: Edelgard Huber von Gersdorff. My hat's off to the old lady, and all other old farts that are still kicking around.
I bought a year pass for the local Zoo. Fuck paying it forward, I'm gonna look at penguins and apes n shit and pretend that my meager donation will save a few species in the breeding programme and cooperative conservation efforts. Why help my fellow human when I can save some barely known fancy rats or lizards or whatever. That Zoo also has an artificial cave where you can stand still and hope for a few bats to land on you. Surprisingly cute critters, those. Highly recommended if you have a bit of money to waste, and a genuine zoo nearby. At least here in Munich, it's a pretty nice, green place to hang out, as well. Hideously expensive foodstuffs though.
