Btw, that list doesn't impress me at all.  Xbox and GC games did a bunch of impressive shit as well.  People just don't know about it because their devs don't post on the internet so that the fanboys can help them spread the hype.  Who gives a fuck what technical terms the devs can come up with, I only care what the final game looks like.  It's not my problem that programmers have to do a lot more to come up with results for shitty outdated hardware.  I just play the fricking games.
XBOX and GC games did some of that as well, yes, but their hardware was designed to do it.

It's like when I find those rare NES games that actually feature multiple levels of parallax scrolling or something along those lines.  You know, things that aren't that impressive in comparison to other hardware (even at the time), but well beyond what one would expect of a particular platform.  I enjoy seeing developers push hardware in a way that it was never intended to be.

Quite frankly, I think the PS2 is old enough at this point that we should be able to drop any notions of fanboyism when discussing achievements related to it.  The fanboy bullshit is mostly gone at this point.

Yeah, right, just look at Methodis and Third.  You really think they're not influenced by this shit?

Also, maybe I didn't make myself clear but I'm just not impressed by SOTC regardless of how I feel about fanboys hyping it up.  By the time it came out, there were tons of stuff that looked better.

It's like how I felt about Perfect Dark.  Sure, it looked great for a N64 game but it was still fug.

*shrug*

That's cool, I guess.  I thought it was very impressive for its day regardless of platform.  I didn't enjoy it as much as ICO either, but I still thought it great.  The one thing that I really wanted out of the game that it failed to deliver is more platforming traversal gameplay (similar to ICO).  The world, while atmospheric, was definitely too empty for its own good.  I was hoping to explore some ruins or something.

At least it appears that they are returning to such things with The Last Guardian.

Yeah it was. I'm a bit of an sfag I guess but I think my goggles are clear. That game was ace and really impressive. PC faggery begone.
