I know a few people who drink beer sorta casually tho so it doesnt have that effect, they also tend to buy imported beers.

I love mostly any kind of beer though.  All different types of flavors is how I see it.  Very few are disgusting and those usually consist of light beers and shit like Keystone.

For trash beer (and by trash beer I mean any beer you can buy in a gas station), Corona Extra is pretty good.  Slice of lime, always.

Yuengling is a nice mild beer with a light flavor.

I like beer, but you do have to develop a taste for it.  The above beers are purely for taste, not for drunk, and can be found at pretty much any respectable grocery store.  For drunk, you will have to experiment to see what fits you best and doesn't get you bloated or sick.  All those new "hyper" beers with the outrageous alcohol content taste like shit to me, but ymmv.

I go in phases. When I was younger I would drink about anything I could get my hands on. Keystone Light, Natty Light, Budweiser .. even Colt 45 or Little Kings. Like someone said, once you get past the first beer .. it all tastes the same. The point was getting drunk .. not taste fulfillment.

When I was legal, I tended to stick with the stronger stuff. Canadien beers and some "Ice" variants of beers (back when they first came out). I went through a Labatts phase .. a Killians Red phase and then stuck to good old Bud Light for many years.


Now, I much prefer wine over beer. It gives a better buzz and doesn't make you feel like shit (or the horrible shits that draft beer can give you) and it goes better with food. I think beer really kills the taste of food and I would rather drink wine or even a Sprite instead, with dinner.

I think Henieken is sort of a holdover beer from the 70's and 80's. Back then most the beers taste like shit (Think PBR) ... so the yuppies of that day were looking for an alternative to what the "working man" would drink. Ironically, their beer was equally as shitty.

I love that the ironic hipster beer of choice is PBR. I went to a show a few months ago, and my friend asked her to get her a PBR from the bar. After rolling my eyes, I obliged - but they were sold out. The bartended showed me all these good beers, like Sapporo, hoping that I would pick something GOOD - but she only wanted PBR.

Stella is shit and I boycott it because the whole branding scheme irks me even when it is the best of all options available.

I do like Pilsner Urquell for something refreshing though.
