I picked it up and watched the first few disks and I am amazed so far. SNL rarely aired pre-1990 re-runs so all I knew of this era was those random best of shows. But I have to say WOW. I have always liked SNL, well for the last few years it sucked. But my god I see why the 70's era is seen as the best now.
The first few episodes were rough but it quickly got running. I never really been a huge Chevy Chase fan but now I see why he was the "star" of this show early on. His weird President Ford impression kind of got annoying though. People think the Daily Show is innovative political satire but my god Chevy's Weekend Updates are some of the best things I ever seen.

It is nothing like what weekend update evolved to and is almost entirely political discussion and its FANTASTIC. And I really never seen anything with Gilda Radner before but I am in love with her cause of this set even though she was kind of ugly.

She is probably one of the funniest women I ever have seen. AND SHE IS FROM DETROIT.
