oh you guys

The landlady brought strawberries over for our meeting and then left them on the back porch. I brought the strawberries in and put them on the kitchen table and left a note saying they were the same strawberries. On our way out, we passed Riddler and I told him "hey I put the strawberries on the table for everyone to finish off." He just stared at the fridge door and stood there without saying a word.

There were choice quotes, but it is not fair for me to criminalize someone who cannot defend themselves. We decided to work towards a middle, even though the other roomie and I feel the kitchen has been a-ok. For his part, riddler is to learn to be tolerant of others and mind the words he uses.

Yep!  The landlady grows them herself.  The backyard is basically a huge garden everybody shares to grow fruits, vegetables and herbs.   :)

etiolate and I have started growing some peppers and sage:

Yeah something doesn't quite add up here.  I've never even heard of a "house meeting" outside of MTV's The Real World.  Do you live in some sort of weird co-op or something?

Eh.  Roomies have meetings but usually they're more casual hang outs to get to know each other and go over general house rules (like no bodily fluids in the hot tub or something :teehee).  I wasn't IN this particular meeting (I was in the next room) but it sounded more like an HR meeting at the office when a client files a complaint or something.  Really weird.

No, he's supposedly been teaching second grade for five years and "loves (his) kids and they love (him)".  That is a quote, I kid you not.  I don't really know why it had to be brought up several times during the arguments but it seemed to be an important reason as to why everyone should listen to him.

I think he assumes that inorganic food is a health hazard.  Like I said before, he sounds like a child in an adult's body.  Which might explain why he loves children so much.

no, the debate was over meat, not over using round-up in the backyard.  there's no difference between a natural pesticide and a synthetic one at least as far as toxicity.

Baffling as usual. Who is talking about the pesticides?

never mind, this is an extremely tedious diversion from a promising thread. Would much prefer to here more Riddler stories than debate the merits of organic beef.

There are no riddles.  He just draws big question marks on pieces of paper and tapes them on items around the house he thinks there's issues with (yeah for a guy so concerned with organic beef he sure isn't worried about wasting paper).

Didn't Etiolate say this guy was over 30?  Why would you be over 30 and still have roommates?  Tell me the truth about it being a commune.  :(

It is an old, nice house split into upstairs and downstairs. The house is 3-5 bedrooms. The downstairs is rented out to college kids. The upstairs is a British couple and their baby. The land lady lives in the house next door, and there is a large conjoined backyard.

And being 30ish and having roommates in California at this time is not so strange.

I've actually been wondering this myself...  Then again there are 30+ year olds that still live with their parents so maybe 30+ year old non-student living with roommates is a step up?

Well I'd expect him to have a wife/gf but he sounds too distinguished mentally-challenged.  It's pretty hard for a teacher to buy a house on one income in california though, especially in the Bay Area.

I can imagine this guy's wife slaving in the kitchen while he's tapping his watch demanding organic sandwiches.
