Took me a week to do this. Probably less if I wasn't sober. Excuse the poor image quality; the image was taken using my 3GS' camera. Any feedback is appreciated.

Aside from the tree clipping into the roof, it looks good.

Thanks!

I'm not doing any classes, but I think I'm going to try to find a program that offers weekend classes. I had a lot of fun working on that.

It's good; you should take another shot in better light. It looks as though there are some good colors hiding in there.

But is it art?

No but seriously, I dont' know if its from the camera but I like the warmth of it. The detail in the flora is very nice too (in contrast to the landscape).

It keeps making me want to look to the right of the picture because some of the house lines are not parallel to the edges while others are.

I like it at first, but the more I look at it the less I like it.  Hope that helps!

 :lol

For my critical lazy eye, I think it's a great start (better than I've ever been able to do), especially with some of the fauna and flowers in the foreground, but your use of detail in some areas and not others gives it a muddy appearance and there's little visable depth because of the way you're using color.  A couple classes with some focus on the fundamentals could improve your efforts drastically without harming your style.

So basically for it to become real art, it has to either look much worse or much better.

I like it a lot.

Nice use of the brushes on the trees. Gives them some texture. Well, the trees in the background. I feel the trees next to the house conflict a bit too much with the trees behind them. The grass could use a bit more work, the grass in front of the house, rather.

But the foreground is perfect.

I find that the house conflicts with the foreground, making the overall image feel incomplete though. As the foreground, while not being nearly intricately detailed, is still pleasantly detailed. For instance, you can see the various gradations on the petals. This gives a level of detail that's absent in the rest of the painting.

Despite the inconsistencies, honestly, I really like it. It reminds me of Mexican paintings somehow. Given how thick the paint looks, you used oil or acryllic, correct?

I spilled a big fucking can of paint onto fresh carpet over the weekend as I was helping the ex paint her new place. Which has nothing to do with CurseoftheGods lovely painting; I just needed to vent. Thank you.

I lol'd at the sparkly SMH, but I have to admit to something similar.

I once helped a very lovely NZ woman with whom I'd been (very) briefly involved move into a house with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, trying to "make nice" so we could all remain friends. I was working at the same place, so it seemed wise to keep the peace. The house was in Kyoto's Kita-ku, it was up a hill only serviceable via a steep, narrow walkway. I did this during a summer in Kyoto. Summers in Kyoto are famously hot and humid, and this was the hottest one in 40 years.

Despite my efforts, neither of them tried to stay in contact afterward, until I moved back to the USA and they both needed a place to stay. So looking back I'm wondering where I'd misplaced my balls. :bawl

Most disappointing post of the day.  The story started off so promisingly, like the beginning of a Penthouse Letter but then quickly peters out into :fbm

At the time, I was only renting a single room in a shared house so I didn't have any place to put them. It was a good excuse at the time. Now I've got a house with a dedicated guest room, and there's still no place for either of them in my house.

Smoove, if you think you were disappointed, think about where I was. :lol

drew would huff spray paint and kiss the outside wall of his middle school. Using the caked up paint that accrued around his pale lips to make beautiful silver drew kisses.
