sadly good jrpgs are a rare thing these days
I have played Persona 4, Demon's Souls, Dragon Quest IX, Strange Journey in the past few years so I disagree.
That's more than the good wrpgs, so I wouldn't say it's rare.
Who fucking cares? It's still barren compared to last gen.
Last gen, the best jrpgs didn't come out until the end of the ps2's lifespan.
So far we've got Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, The Last Remnant (haven't played), Nier (haven't played), Tales of Vesperia, Demon's Souls, Xenoblade (which we may or may not get), Valkyria Chronicles, and an assortment of ds and psp rpgs that vary in terms of quality. I'd say, if you're a jrpg fan, there's something for everyone except people like me who are traditionalists and prefer the traditional rpg model to everything else, which is why I like Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and Dragon Quest 9 the most.
And this without mentioning the fact that Persona 3 and 4 both came out during this generation, in 2007 and 2008 respectively.
So yeah, the past few years have been good. Unless you're a big fan of traditional rpgs.
