The sound effects in Berzerk used to really freak me out. The buzzing sound whenever you get electrocuted is way hardcore.

Cloak & Dagger - one of the most under-appreciated twin stick shooters EVER! God I spent a LOT of quarters on this one back in the day.

I'm too young to have seen these games in arcades except the times museums would do classic arcade exhibits $:-\$

I remember thinking the NES version was way better than the arcade version.

I lost the final round of "The Video Game" (the shitty Starcade spin-off from 1984) because I chose Mr. Do's Castle to play in the final round - were I to be selected as a contestant - instead of Donkey Kong, the game I had been playing for weeks on my Colecovision.

I fucking hate Mr. Do.

hell yes for mentioning venture; that shit is what got me into videogames. i can still remember playing the colecovision port: i was just a tiny 3-yr-old, fumbling my way through the levels and being terrified of the monster that'd chase you whenever you spent too much time in a room. i used to like watching my dad play cuz he could always get farther than i could

Sweet games DCharlie, loved the PS1 version of In The Hunt when I was a kid, by the people who went on to do Metal Slug (plays similarly but more fun). Real keen to check out Edward Randy. Maybe you could post images though and if you must linking to the youtube through the image or something would make browsing soooo much better ( url=youtube.com/link img=blah /img /url ) the amount of youtube links makes my computer freak out real bad
