Chrono, I don't know much about this stuff but couldn't you bypass the block by using a VPN? Or does MS have a way to block those too?

Thanks for that thought; it had occurred to me as well: It's possible I could use The Onion Router to spoof my IP to purchase it through the xbox.com site's Marketplace, but I don't have the foggiest idea how I'd do that for the 360 itself. If I paid for it and then the IP check still blocked the 360 from downloading a valid purchase, I'd go postal.
I've been told a means of doing it at the router level, but pfffffehhhh...

Capcom will not be releasing the IP block, I'm SOL, end of story. I'll just buy the disc version and be satisfied.

Every tie I watch Case West trailer my hype for Dead Rising 2 goes tenfold. I'm over Reach. Bring on the main course.

Every time I watch the Case West trailer I realize I'm going to have to pay for the ending that should have been in the game to begin with.

Wait...I thought Case Zero was coming out in Japan, albeit censored?

Just think Chronovore. If this were on PS3 you could have bought the UNCUT, UNEDITED version of Case Zero off the NA psn.

Thankfully disc games are region free so you could import the NA ps3 version! UNCUT!

Not necessarily.  Resistance 1 was censored on Japanese PS3s no matter which version you bought.  No blood, no hero moments or whatever they were called.  I remember there was a hacked save that put the blood back in, but not the hero stuff AFAIK.

Also for those wondering about downloading outside Japan and then bringing it back into the country, I'm pretty sure you'd get a region lockout message preventing you from playing it.  A few years back, MS changed Live to start doing this.  I used to be able to download American TV shows off their marketplace, and then one day after an update I couldn't watch them anymore and got a message saying they weren't valid in my region.  When I moved back to the U.S., they worked again.

I was pretty ass-backward in the way I've gone about this, but: In January I was in the USA, brought my USB stick and Gamertag, bought points, and then purchased these on my brother's-in-law 360. Now, nearly a year later, I'm getting around to playing this.

If I'd had this before DR2, Case Zero would have made me so :hyper for getting the full version. What a fantastic, bite-sized chunk of dead-rising-ness, playable in a couple hours, showing all the basics, but keeping a number of minutiae out of the picture. It's a very solidly designed game, with an entirely different sense of place than Fortune City (and Willamette, for that matter).

I thought I was doing really well, and was about to potentially finish the game in my first playthrough, with Chuck at Level 1, when I noticed that there were only moments to get back to Katie. As I'm running back to the gas station safehouse, I notice another Case is flashing red, "Above the Law," and I don't remember even receiving it. Holy crap, I'm doomed!

I get Katie her Zombrex, and it shifts to a cutscene for the town's psycho battle. I'd been messing around and only had one health pip left. Oh, crap I'm double-doomed!

In the end, I got him down to 1/2 health, but I ended up getting a shotgun pitchfork to the gut. DOOMED! :lol

I started over, was way, way ahead of where I was last time.

Man, I loves me some Dead Rising.

I'm 650 zombies away from having a perfect 200/200 gamerscore out of this. Probably just going to restart and use the wheelbarrow, since it's indestructible. First I'll give the Queens a shot though. It may be fast enough, since the blockade gives about 50 kills per Queen.

This game was fun, start to finish. People made fun of it for being a "non-free demo," but clearly a lot of work went into it. It's fantastic.

I liked Case Zero for sure.  The framerate was baaaaaad, but otherwise it was solid fun.  I still need to play Case West one of these days.

Thanks, yeah. I actually got the first 200 in this last run using the wheelbarrow, after noticing that it was not taking ANY damage, unlike every other weapon in the game. By the time I had wrapped up the other cheevs, I was 40% of the way there, so I wrapped up the last bit just using Queens, broadswords, and nailbats.

Good times.

200/200!
