The online for this is just kinda wonky. Unable to host/join a game for very long with goon types and got to play two levels with some randoms before they both bailed. Shit needs patching.

Just watched the Giant Bomb quick look.  This ain't the EDF I know.  Like I said earlier, there doesn't seem to be much going on here.  Where's the screen filling swarms of bugs?  Where's the colossal motherships and robots?  And active reloading?!?!   

EDF is dead.

No it's not, Sandlot is making EDF4. This game is just a stopgap.

Well that quick look was played on pussy difficulty level with just one human player and low tier weaponry. It gets a lot more insane then that. Also what kind of fuckwit brings a grenade launcher and homing missles into a stage where they know they're going to have to shoot down some carriers? Goddamn moron. Online was working way better for me today btw.
