So, yeah, it's been used. Hence: used. They should go for the used price; if they try and slip me that one again, I'll just pass on it.
Even if you demand they sell it as "used", the price difference isn't much more than $5 for a newer game, typically.
Yeah, that's fine; I'm not so hung up on the price difference as I am the ethical stance of taking something which is sealed, opening that seal, passing it around to play amongst the employees, and claiming that it's still "new."
One of the Gamestops had used copies of inFAMOUS on the shelf, but no new ones. I asked at the counter if they had new ones in stock somewhere, and was told "Yeah, we do. It's 3 dollars more."
OK give me one of the new copies. "The used ones are guaranteed."
That's fine, motherfucker, do you mind if I try to make sure the development team GETS PAID?Swear to god, I had to ask for the new copy, then had to defend my choice to the clerk. I know it's not illegal for them to put the used ones out and hide the new ones, but it is definitely immoral, in a business arrangement where they take money from Sony for in-store stand-ups, shelfspace, etc.
