I almost bought this but then I remembered DW7 is coming out and will probably be the better game. Although if they bring this to the US so it's not $90+ to import, then I still might give it a shot.
But didn't you buy Gundam Musou 3? And wasn't that also the same price? It probably has a better chance of being localized than this game does.
But then I like Sengoku more than Sangoku since I actually know who these Japanese historic characters are, whereas I know absolutely nothing about historic Chinese warriors.
I've always had a preference for Samurai Warriors myself, but there's no denying how awesome Dynasty Warriors 7 is looking...and it's coming out next month! I only got this game because I found the Wii version to be pretty fun, and this is a better version of it. I quit playing the game on Wii when it was announced for the PS3 last year.
Which reminds me, what's the deal with Koei not bringing over the PS3 upgrade ports? First Orochi Z, now SW3 Z. It reminds me of how (until Graces F) Namco refused to bring over upgrade ports of Tales games. Do Japanese companies feel there is no market in the US for upgraded re-releases on new systems?
I probably would've bought Orochi Z if they'd brought it over here and it had price bombed to under $30.
Don't know if this is true, but I read something about Sony not allowing Koei to bring Musou Orochi Z out here, since the PS2/PSP versions were already available. But it doesn't make sense since Sony has since released their own PS2 port-up collections, and when you look at Musou Orochi Z in comparison to say, God Of War Collection, Z got more noticeable upgrades and new characters/features.
well poop in my mouf. guess i'm glad i kept the wiitard version around.
The question is, will the expansion pack be released in English? Sengoku Musou 3Z wasn't the only game that came out this week; the Wii XL add-on was also released. They added back Garcia from SW2XL, plus there's two new faces. I tried both of them, and they're pretty damn cool. One is Uesugi's "older sister", Aya Gozen, and the other is Fukushima Masanori, a dude that looks like a 70's/80's era yakuza thug with a double-sided spiked club. One of his moves has him stomp on the ground, then grab the enemy and slam him down hard. Pretty fun! I'm pretty sure they also gave several of the previously-free mode only characters stories now, too.
Doesn't look like it.
Did Nintendo help localize SW3 for NA? I wonder if that is part of the reason why SW3Z isn't coming?
It could be due to this, too; Nintendo didn't just release it here, the Wii version also contains a separate mode that is based on an old Famicom title, complete with the hero of that game playable. The PS3 version removes this mode and replaces it with several challenge modes, which TBH is better anyway, since the Murasame Castle mode kind of sucked.
Wonder if this will make it over to the PC. Koei has ported quite a few games to the PC in the last couple of years. DW6 ran much better on a high-end PC but the visuals looked even worse in 1080P.
Seems doubtful. This game really looks GOOD in 1080P (well, 720P upscaled) though, I can say that. I don't know if I can call it Koei's best-looking Musou yet, since I haven't played Gundam Musou 3 and DW7 will easily take that crown anyway, but it's up there. It looks a lot better than the Wii version does. One thing in particular that I noticed was that a lot of the colors really seemed to pop off the screen. It looks a
lot more colorful than the Wii version does on certain stages. The one downside to the graphics are the FMVs that were clearly taken right from the Wii version, and don't look so hot in HD. It's even more noticeable compared to the new/real-time cinemas that were added.
