L4D2 - $5
Glacon Fusion - $2.50
King's Bounty Platinum Edition - $8.75

Will probably snag these when I get home tonight. I missed out on the King's Bounty deal last year but will not this time. Glacon Fusion looks like it could be a fun strategy game to pass the time.

Is Left for Dead 2 worth $5? Are you serious?

That said, it will surely be on sale many times again.

Sure, there will probably be lots of Complete Valve and Left for Dead Everything packs. But if you already have the other Valve stuff, L4D2 can't really get much cheaper, can it?

I've got Lara Croft and GOL, the Indie Pulse Pack (don't have any of those!), Blur and Warhammer so far. Fingers crossed for Assassin's Creed II next.

I want Ubisoft day.  Them and Capcom have been absent from the sales so far.  Splinter Cell Conviction, PoP Forgotten Sands, ACII.  All shit DRM, but for $5-10 I'll live with it because those all look REALLY nice on PC.

I also want Lost Planet 2 for like $5-7.50 just to give it a fair shake.

I played a few hours of Alpha Protocol this afternoon and really enjoyed it.  It's deep as hell.. so many options and customizations and things to do.  Tons of weapons, gadgets, modifications, attachments, intel stuff, huge.  I like the dialogue tree system with there being a time limit.  Graphics look pretty @ 1080p with everything maxed.  Not sure what the shooting complaints were about...gunplay seems competent.  The sound effects are really good.. walking, shooting, etc.  I made a Field Agent because someone mentioned the stealth was fun and it is.  During my couple hours of play I was completely immersed into the world and didn't wanna stop playing.  I just got my Saudi safe house and am about to start that mission.

Yeah, what's up with that? I could've sworn it was supposed to go at least through the 29th.

Edit: It was slow to show up, it's there now though.

Edit 2: Looks like there's some kind of issue going on, since the discounted prices still haven't appeared yet.

I thought the sale was over so I just bought L4D2. Goddammit.

:rofl

Either way, the games up for sale look kinda meh. I'm interested in Bit. Trip Beat, but I can't see myself actually playing a game like that on my PC. I made the same mistake when I bought Lumines for PC. That kind of game just lends itself to a portable console.

It's pretty fun, lots of things to do, but this is very much a choose-your-own-adventure. The game isn't going to give you cutscenes or deep storylines or massive setpieces to keep you progressing, it's all about what you want to do and where you want to go. It's really great though slowly building up your army into an ultimate fighting machine capable of rolling through enemy lands and taking one castle after another. The battles are pretty fun too, they really but you right in the heart of the action [by the way, there's a mod out there that ups the number of combatants that appear in each battle, make sure you get that].

AvP is super demanding on your system. But if you have enough RAM, fast enough processor, and a DX11 card it's pretty cool.

really? I only played the demo and it ran super smooth with everything maxed out.  I'd say I have a modest computer with a gtx275, q9550 overclocked to 3.4, and 4gigs of ram.  Maybe it is the DX11 stuff that cause problems since my card is only dx10.

and the demo was multiplayer only, so maybe single player is more taxing.

Depends on how many of the games you already own in each pack.  I'd say every pack has at least 2 quality games.  If you don't have any of them, all the packs were worth $5 for sure.  I usually owned the good half of each pack, so I only picked up a couple.  I think today's pack is the first one I don't own any since it's multiplayer gaming centric and I usually avoid multiplayer titles.

You won't really find that in Kotor.  It's an ok story that, like Mass Effect and most wrpgs, is more about the mini-arcs within the planets you visit.  The main plot is pretty whatever and not much too it.  But it's an enjoyable game.  Can't really go wrong for $2.50 unless they game refuses to run on your system like mine :P

I was gonna say this exactly; each pack has 2 great games, 2 okay games, and 1 total indie stinker. If you don't own the games in a pack it's probably worth picking up.

Heard good things about Dirt 2, so I caved on that at $5

so, $25 spent for a total of 17 games:

Kane and Lynch 2 (fuck you all, i liked the demo)
Indie Puzzle Pack (5 games)
Indie Story Pack (5 games)
Indie Clever Pack (5 games)
Dirt 2 (yay pretty DX11 effects)

There's not much left on Steam that I really want, so unless shit is just discounted outrageously I don't see myself spending much during the Holiday sale.

What? KotoR might not be EPIC, but it's pretty well written, engrossing and shocking. I don't even remember the mini-arcs.

I hope they continue doing this multiple pack thing during christmas too.  The only game here that I felt comfortable giving people (knowing that it was good) would be Trine, but everyone has that.  If there is a Flotilla pack, I'd be down with gifting that around.  But people probably got that through the indie air pack.

and I wish Steam would do the GOG method of bundles where the price gets lower if you already own some of those games.  I can't keep rebuying games I already own!

btw, very useful little app if you can't get your head around junction syntax in the command line:

http://www.traynier.com/software/steammover

Lets you move Steam apps around various HDDs without moving your whole Steam directory. Very handy if you're short on space, or just want to put a game on a faster/slower/bigger drive etc. I filled up my new SSD in minutes with this thing.
