I bought Bully because I never finished it on PS2 and apparently after patches the PC version became a great port.  Bought Alien vs. Predator because it looks pretty and I like the franchises a lot.  Not going to install AvP for a while now though, it's 15gigs and all these 15gig games are filling my drive way too fast.

Maybe you should wait until you get a DX11 card before playing AVP.  It's got some nice DX11 effects.

May not help your particular situation but I find this invaluable:

BULLY not available in Japan. What is this shit? CAPCOM!!!! :shakesbonyfist

It's weird that Steam won't even show you the price if it's not in your region. Is that just to prevent additional "shopping rage"?

i sent you something borys, and we have been steam friends for a while

here is the thing - if you signed up for steam with some weird email address that you never check, or you never sign in to the service, you will never know when you receive gifted games.  if you do not set your spam filter to accept email from steam, your gift emails go into the spam folder.  games only show up when you click the pop-up when you're online, or you click the link in the email.  they are not automatically added to your games list, and you are never shown as owning them.

i've still got games i gifted months ago sitting in my "manage gift/guest passes" window showing as "sent" but not "redeemed" by the people i sent them to

so,

1.  Use a real email when you sign up to Steam
2.  Set your spam filters to accept anything from Steam
3.  Always click "open my gift" on the pop-up, or the link in the email, even if you aren't going to install right away, otherwise it does not get added to your games list

Huh, I just checked, and it is showing you as already having PB Winterbottom, even though when I sent it Steam said you didn't own it.

well, i'm discovering that other than the crazy deals the steam service kind of sucks, and since the publishers have to approve/set the deal prices we should probably be thanking each of them individually instead

- in-game overlay bugs out and crashes certain games
- sometimes have to wait weeks for the steam version of a game patch
- cannot install games and play them on two computers at the same time for LAN-style MP with a friend, even for games that allow that
- ancient, hill people method of transaction which apparently involves doing ciphering on a torn off piece of brown paper bag

i know people love them, and i'm not gonna waste a bunch of time arguing about it, but after all this bullshit i'll certainly never praise them again

i am gonna send you another cheap game, and send something to cormac (i will wait to see what the daily deals are), and then i am done

steam is great for buying dirt cheap games, but overall demi was right - it's a piece of shit in almost every other aspect

i just get mad at things which waste my time, it's my biggest "pet peeve" other than not having a better phrase to use than "pet peeve"

it was just completely unnecessary, should have taken minutes instead of being an off-and-on all day thing

on the other hand, there are people in the world who will starve or freeze to death over this holiday season for lack of money, so maybe i should realize that the minor inconvenience of having to buy cheap games one at a time isn't such a big deal after all and i should just shut the fuck up about it

great deals for games I already own.  actually, I'm surprised that the standard ME2 price was $20.  EA makes it hard to want to buy their games new after Bad Company 2 was $7 and this now $10.  Drop MoH enough and I'll check it out.

also, Dead Rising 2 is $16 if you own Resident Evil 5 on steam.

Another day of nothing much for me.  I already own everything from previous sales outside stuff I'm not interested (military things).  It's kind of lame that a lot of the "sales" are just recycling sales from earlier in the year.  Like Blur was $15 when I got it in the thanksgiving sale.  It should be cheaper now so I can gift it to people since it's a great great arcade racer.  And Deathspank is a weak sale, especially considering it's only part 1.  I want a sale on part 2!

Oh well, there's still a bunch of days left until the sale ends.  What day does it end anyhow?

Eh, the PC one is the console one with 1080p @ 60fps if you have a decent card.  Steam achievements instead of X360 ones, X360 controller support.  Not a huge difference, but if you have a decent card the PC one is probably preferable for the crisp visuals.

Darksiders doesn't even look that great on the PC.  Most of the assets weren't redone and don't seem to be fit for more than 720p.  In some ways, it almost looks a PS2 game running in HD on an emulator.

Ehh, I only played the first stage, but the textures and stuff were pretty nice.  Definitely did not look anywhere near a PS2 game.  But yeah the assets are probably 720p.

Opened a ticket on the support page. Guys if I have added cash to Steam Wallet then my CC has already been billed? I mean, I have "purchased" virtual money with real money?

And I cannot even use it FFS. If they allowed me to purchase it in first place, why can't I now spend it however I want?

So is it giving you some kind of error message when you try to use the money in your wallet?

Ironically I tried to gift you ACII yesterday (when it was cheap...like me!) but it blocked my card, first time that's ever happened :lol

You have the steam plague, it infects all who touch you!

Good day for me, both ME2 and Darksiders were on my wishlist going into this. Darksiders I can get myself, but ME2 is unavailable here so if anyone can gift it to me I'd be much obliged. Give me a hint what you'd like in return and it shall be yours! I'm a big tipper...don't be shy!
