As someone who enjoyed Killzone 2 (as much as Gears 1; not nearly as much as the people on gaf), the brief time I spent with the Killzone 3 beta felt bad.  The recent single player video also looked pretty (but) bad. 

For PS3 stuff in 2011, the one game I really want is Infamous 2.  The Last Guardian is probably not going to be next year, but even if it was, still Infamous 2.  Infamous 1 is my favorite PS3 game.

Actually, what has been said about Resistance 3 sounds good.  I'm looking forward to it despite the second game being total shit.

Uncharted 2 multiplayer was surprisingly fun, but Gears 1 multiplayer really good and still better.  Gears 2 was busted at released and I didn't bother coming back so I don't know how that was when everything was settled.

I do like the co-op modes in Uncharted 2 more.  Playing through mini-episodes is more entertaining than just straight up horde/firefight stuff for me.  And taking the treasure around the map also makes the standard 'survive on one map' thing more fun.

I tried Gears1 multi and hated it but co-op was fun at times.

What's great about Gears 2 multi? I like how Uncha 2 multi carries over into the main game for unlockables and secrets. Both modes compliment each other.

I played through the story coop for most of it I think and maybe a few vs. maps but I'd gotten my fill of Gears competitive with Gears 1 and I'm not an online gamer really.

The cursed zombies in Uncharted 1 were the best part of the game. I loved it.
Uncharted 1 is better than any Gears game, but it can't touch the greatness of Uncharted 2. Not many games can, anyway.

I still wonder how ND will make a desert setting interesting. Maybe we'l see something like the Petra ruins or the Pyramids, mixed with a few oases.

I enjoyed U2 quite a bit but I could see why some gamers, especially those who don't care much for high production values, didn't find it particularly impressive.  Though much improved from the first game, combat elements such as control, hit-detection, AI, etc, are still B level at best.  The platforming is even more lacking.  It's fun to watch Drake perform his acrobatic feats but actually controlling him in those segments isn't particularly fun or challenging. 

In terms of story, U2 started off pretty well but the big revelation was just as disappointing as the first's.  Given the premise of the story, I had expected a lot more from the twist. 

All in all, U2 was still a very enjoyable experience but the gameplay had ways to go before it was on par with the graphical polish.

Pretty fun.  You do these mini-levels 3 player that are based on sections from the story but changed a bit to be more challenging with tougher enemy groups.  I just wish there had been more of them.  I think there were like 3 scenarios.  If they had ~5-10 that's all I would have been playing after finishing the SP.  But as good as the 3 are you get tired of them after a few runs.

I wish.  I dunno if I want to stick with PS3/X360 for another 5 years.  These days I'm playing most third party games at 1080p/60fps on PC and console stuff just seems unpolished in comparison.

I doubt even Sony is that dumb.  What I don't get is why they keep pushing 3D this gen when even regular PS3 games have such a hard time of running smoothly in HD.  I could understanding adding that feature to stuff like the PS2 collections because there's still some extra horsepower to be used.  But 3D for GT5 when it's already running so horrendously?  What's the point?

I'll try it during Christmas since my cousin just bought a 50 inch 3d plasma, probably with Wipeout which is one of the few games that can still run decently with 3D on.  If I liked the 3D experience, I might get a 3D monitor for my PC.  Supposedly Nvidia has done a pretty good job of implementing 3D even in games that weren't designed for it.
