How long ago was this? 360 demos have become larger.  Like, the ME2 demos on both is like a gig and a half (PS3 one is more I think) and Dead Space 2 on 360 is over a gig.

It's a bit annoying because I think comcast () measures internet usage now.  This month alone I've downloaded way too much because of the DCUO beta and random Steam games.

I would call that an exaggeration but the LBP2 (close to 2 gigs) did take like 10 minutes to install.  I usually just queue up a bunch of downloads and set my PS3 to 'auto-off after download completes' since it installs the games too.

oooh you mean the games, not the downloads?  yeah, they've gotten better at that too.  I think Infamous and Darksiders install while you play the opening segments or something like that.  Other games have optional installs that are worth doing.

Nothing is as bad as MGS4.  You have to install after each act (5 total) and they're pretty long.  Because of that distinguished mentally-challenged decision, if you want to replay an old act, you need to reinstall it.  Stupid thing deletes the old data for some reason.

Ratchet took 60 secs to install. Pretty harmless. GoW3 did not install anything, same with FF13.

I think only shit games like Killzone 2, GT5 need long install times.

PSN fucking sucks, flat out.  If/when Sony puts out the PS4 I hope to god they'll be smart enough to outsource the framework code because they're obviously unable to do decent job themselves.  About the only thing it's got going for it is that it's free.

I do give Sony credit for revamping their store though.  It's still a bit of a clusterfuck but it's a huge improvement over that website storefront they had in the beginning.  But Sony still seems to be in love with the idea of website UIs....just look at GT5 for instance.  They need to jettison that nonsense.

Sony never really got online. So the system was either ass backwards or devoid of features when the system launched. Once they saw how they were getting shit on by MS they tried to patch in the equivalent features but even then it feels fucked up and half assed.

And yeah for some reason it always feels like it downloads really slowly. Whenever I'm over to my brother's and try to dl some demo it takes forever even though he has decent internet speed.

It's a clusterfuck. Yet if you go on GAF the fanboys will tell you its awesome.

Shatter is good. I like Joe Danger also. Trine is also fun. Never played it myself but I've also heard that new Wipeout is good.

urm. for PS3 downloads going slow. I would recommend not going wireless (which is obvious). and also put your PS3 in your routers DMZ. I've done both and the connection on PSN seems much faster than it did before i did it.

Banned machines have "crippled" hard drives,you can't install games...everything will play normally,you will just have to listen to dvd buzz(not a big deal)
