It serves many purposes:

1. Claim Black Ops is a horrible game
2. Claim Dead Ops Arcade is an amazing game, and I would pay for an XBLA stand-alone
3. To allow others to troll me, and themselves
3a. Especially Japanese games

I'm firing on all cylinders

Dead Ops is just a mediocre Smash TV clone... it's fine as throwaway side content, but I wouldn't pay money for it.

also: Barry Wheeler in Alan Wake

TMNT - Character-specific damage types, and tagging allies in/out during fights -- in a platform brawler. Too bad they only actually used it, required it in the final fight with the multiple bosses, without ever explaining that it's there.

The dialog, voice acting, and quick-and-easy combat in Two Worlds, which makes a bad game really fun to play.
