“Thing with Killzone 2 was, there were some quite technical problems in the controls, actually, and I think we’ve solved those now. There was a lot of lag… by fixing those issues we’ve lost a bit of that weighty feeling. We’ve tried to maintain that original experience, but if we’d kept it as slow, we’d run into the danger of losing some people, moving too far away from our competitors.”

I like how it was impossible to tell anybody at the time that there was anything wrong with Killzone 2 controls. And every comment the devs make is how they fixed the laggy controls from the first game.

I can't still believe how that excuse spread like wildfire, even among some of my friends who never frequent gaming forums or news site. They were literally eating that shit up and it was scary.

Gotta give credit to sfags for having a collective mind.  It's almost Borg-like.

Well, at least Gears' aiming controls aren't shit.

Gears 1 was alright because of the crazy graphics (for its time) and pretty good co-op.  But I couldn't finish the sequel even when I was playing with friends.  It was just too much of the same even if the visuals had been upgraded quite a bit.

My problem with GoW2 was that it was REALLY long and I played the whole thing in co-op.  I think they need to take the call of duty approach where no level takes over 30 minutes but a bunch of individual challenge levels are put in as extra (similar to spec ops mode).
