Pluto is pretty much a rapist throughout the show and this just points it out in a very crass way. You can take it as "edgy" trash, sure, but I don't think they're going for something Cyanide & Happiness style shockbait. Just my impression though.

It's a rape joke based on a cartoon that is irrelevant. If Popeye was somehow popular still I could maybe see trying to spin it as social commentary, then again they've dedicated half the comic to showing a rape.

Actually watched a collection of Popeye cartoons the other night and the general thought I had was that both Pluto and Popeye were more interested in beating the shit out of each other than they were interested in Olive Oil. Popeye and Pluto would do some fucked up stuff to Olive Oil just so they could punk each other.

Yeah, I doubt that parody comic was intended to glorify rape in any way. I saw it as graphic literal interpretation of hundreds of narrative situations depicted in a "classic" comic/cartoon. If anything it shows how entertainment and general civil moral standards have improved over the past 80 years
