"Recreation" and finding a publisher for the book. I'm 100% serious.

Hi Timedog, I really cheered you up when you posted that 'depression' thread on gaf. I think you're ok, but please don't try bringing the 'gaf-sleb' persona over here, it's awkward and uncomfortable. And will sooner or later end unpleasantly, but that said. Post elsewhere. There are better threDs. On the forum. My UFO mega-thread is a good dive-board, so, check it.

It's Mitt Romney levels of obliviousness, really.

How in God's name did she (and EviLore, since she got "permission") think that there wouldn't be a backlash for this?

Surely there must have been a little voice inside EviLore's head that said "y'know, we might not come across very well if this goes ahead...."

A UFO thread without KHarvey trying to party-poop away all the fun? Sounds cool. I don't know what GAF-sleb stuff is, I never mention it and do the same stuff I've always done except for now I get to have sex with GAF women while still saying weird stuff.

edit: Actually, I haven't made as many threads recently but that because I've been hard at work on the Nelson thread.

'...the Titanic must surely be the greatest news story of modern times: the biggest ship in the world, proclaimed unsinkable, hits an iceberg on her maiden voyage and goes down, taking with her many of the best-known celebrities of the day.

Add to that glamor, all the "if onlys" - if only she had paid more attention to the warnings she had received... if only the last warning had reached the bridge... if only the wireless operator hadn't cut off one final attempt to reach her... if only she had sighted the ice a few second sooner, or a few seconds later... if only there had been enough life boats... if only the water tight bulkheads had gone one deck higher... if only that ship on the horizon had come... if only, if only.

She has something for everyone.'

When that big ME3 leak happened after the demo was released that spoiled a shit-ton of stuff hit GAF, all threads discussing the spoilers were deleted at the request of EA.  It's not the only time something like that has happened but Kagari blabbed about it so people got furiously angry for about ten seconds before forgetting about it.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that was her. Boy she's on a gaffe roll, isn't she.

Thats more of an EviLore being spineless issue than a Kagari issue.

No, there are two issues there.  Evilore covering his ass instead of risking EA following through with legal threats, and Kagari blabbing about stuff she was supposed to keep secret.  If Kagari disagrees with the way EL runs things, well, guess what?  It's his site, the door's that way.  If she doesn't disagree with what he did there, then she was stupid to leak anything out to people.  Either way, I can see it counting against her status as a mod.
I'm not glossing over what Kagari did, as a "journalist" I would at least assume she knows what an NDA is and would have applied similar logic to said matter. What I'm saying is the bigger issue is EviLore being a spineless hypocrite, hence me saying "more of an x" issue. My comments arent following the context of this conversation (Kagari's status as a mod as seen by GAF/EviLore) it's just how I straight up feel about that situation.

I didn't care that he deleted the EA leak threads. Whatever.

I remember enjoying his annoyance at having to air his dirty laundry in public after one of his mods blabbed about it. He always strikes me as a very secretive thin skinned person. So whenever things like that happen I'm tickled.

You can call it spinelessness, but if EA is threatening legal action that at least on its face has a shot of going in their favour, and all you have to do to protect your livelihood and life's efforts is delete a couple of threads about story spoilers in a video game, I'd like to see what you would do.  Where's the win in picking a fight there?
I've been faced with similar threats having admined many forums and websites, in every case (about 5/6 iirc) bar one I told the complainers to piss off since their complaints were dumb. The one case I did buckle on was an anime forum I had often came up top of google searches when searching for the word "loli" it made some people nervous so  I word-filtered "loli" to "older lady". You have to admit it's hypocritical and spineless to be all "yaay free speech" then pull down pants and spread cheeks the second his google and ea paymasters come knocking for an asspounding.

Edit: word-filter became world-filter smh

If I was in his situation I'd delete every post and probably troll about it after. The difference here is I never claimed to have anything but a passing interest in defending free speech, and I wouldn't get into a situation where my income is solely dependent on a very volatile source. I also dont like that even in the google censorship thing he was going off about free speech but sadly had to bend to this for financial reasons or whatever. If he came out and said this is of secondary/tertiary/whatever importance to him fine, i can dig that. In the same breath as taking away freedoms proclaiming it to be super important to you .. yeah no.

Ha, also he banned me for talking to Kotaku on an issue he didnt want public. Free speech indeed.

I am harsher with my opinion towards him thats true. Combination of all the shit on GAF flowing from him and personal dislike of how that affected me. Him as a person, he can fry cheetos in the rain if he wants i dont really care either way.

I've had ads pulled because I didn't want to bend as well, couple of hundred dollars a month only though. Yeah I didnt like the way I was approached nor did I have any intention of harming my community with the crap the advertisers wanted.

It's childish of him to have his net worth tied to one single source. If he was financially free do you honestly think he would delete that thread again? An adult would in this case say "ok, I had to do shit i really didn't want to. how do I prevent this from happening again?"

Hitting your head against the same stupid brick wall is childish as hell. This is my opinion and I'm not sorry, nor should you be =P

Not especially, more boredom and a desire to discuss stuff I am actually interested in. the Kagari thing has run it's course, so this is it unless you find something better :-\ The only time I can recall being salty is deleting an entire startup website because a person I really don't like found it and started leaving comments on articles.

Just because everybody does is doesn't make it less stupid. Please tell me you have shares/assets/something in case. If I were to lose my primary source of income right now I'd still be able to live on reserves/stocks/secondary part time work(which I could increase the level of and make primary) for a good year to forever should I choose to do more in the secondary space.
