"Thread shitting" policy is starting to be enforced. So light jokes like those are going to be banned for being in the cross-fire of "not discussing the thread" it seems.

Also, if this is to be believed:

Ace was banned forever due to the following official reason:

I seriously  hope the mods didn't do this, otherwise NeoGAF's moderation has just been blown the fuck up and the whole "walking on eggshells" is back in force. As for the second bit, that's a bit unprofessional and I hope a mod didn't make that the official reason. :/

    “You're a piece of shit and your opinion does not matter. Cunt.”

Well, that's a second one. But I still don't believe "cunt" would be in a perma ban message.
