I just don't understand holding them up to the standards of some indie developer and spinning the situation into something that doesn't reflect reality. "Implementing online is expensive and challenging, and we're lucky we're getting an update to a niche franchise like Pikmin at all." They're not some mom and pop outfit. These are launch games for a new platform that were touted heavily at the biggest gaming spectacle of the year. They have the money to hire competent network programmers to implement the basic features practically every other game has, especially when these games are supposed to showcase what this new hardware can do.
