That's is one of the biggest problems in anime today [that, and the overemphasis on fanservice to disgusting degrees]. I would be surprised if they really went in that direction with the new Sailor Moon, though.

This is a problem that I can agree with, however there are more than enough anime that do not follow this path so it's a weird reason to not watch anime at all. Sailor Moon should be okay I think, well at least not worse than the original series was.

About the gif, what is particularly funny about it?

I work with deaf people and all of them are very expressive so its hard for me to see the joke.

Maybe this is funny to people who have never came in contact with deaf people?

Momo: I guess I liked anime when I was younger, but I didn't love it or needed to have it in my life. So I do not feel the need to search for the clean anime. I rather speed my time watching or doing something that I know has no disturbing content in it.

It's cheap though and you can basically bread it and fry it. It's good.
