FFVI is a classic.

FFVII is utterly forgettable. Disc 2 could have been done away with entirely. Its significance in the gaming zeitgeist has little if anything to do with its gameplay.

Not only because it eliminates competing thoughts on the conservative side but because it also narrows what liberal thought can be. On GAF there also tended to be only one correct liberal position to have and if you didn't have it you were equally as wrong as conservatives.

But ultimately it was pointless. For lots of different reasons it is impossible to create fake balance on a forum and even if there was GAF would be the last place it would work.

During my heyday at GAF, I was considered a prominent Fox News Republican and a huge jingo, even though I scored something like a -7/-7 on the political compass website and am probably much to the left of the modern Democrats. There are just certain positions PoliGAF groupthink has established and if you waver from those by one iota, you are a Fox News watchin', Sarah Palin lovin' teatard. It's why every piece of political news posted on the OT is essentially an echo chamber of outrage.

I actually think Nomura is the one of the saving graces at S-E these days. A lot of the games he's involved in (The World Ends With You, for example and despite Dissidia being flaw it was still pretty inventive, I thought) are pretty damn experimental and refreshing. He has a progressive type philosophy and I think if FF6 were to be remade, they'd use Amano designs and if not that, Amano inspired Nomura designs and considering how much Nomura worships the ground Amano walks on, I'm sure he'd do it justice.

Hey now, up til DQ6, Enix has done some pretty bad-ass remakes of the DQ games. The remakes of the Ys games (the ones Falcom did, anyway) have been pretty frickin' great, too. Don't blame Japan for Square's inadequacies and Nintendo's laziness.

What's so bad about DQ6? The remake? The game? Or both?

there have been a lot of chance to do amano designs "justice" with both dissidia and the FFIV remake and it didn't happen so it's not going happen because nobody gives a shit about amano except forum dwellite's

besides i never understood the obssesion with amano drawings,they just look like a mess to me,something more apt in an art museum than a videogame

and yes nomura is the only good thing remaining in square,despite how everybody is "HURR DURR BELT AND ZIPPERS!" i seriously hope he leaves square-enix after doing kingdom hearts 3,so he can finaly do stuffs that aren't kingdom hearts

it was okay,married by the usual problem of olde rpg ("oh god another random encounter why do you hate me so much game i just want to get to the next dungeon,oh god this fight is taking forever etc etc")

He also decided to change a lot of stuff in the FF7 sequels, like changing cloud from an army asshole to an emo git from the beginning. In the original he was a smartass and when he found out he wasn't what he thought he was he got depressed naturally but there was still that asshole cloud we remember from the beginning. Than near the end he becomes more heroic and becomes the actual soldier he wanted to be. But all the other FF7 related shit changed that. I like crisis core and the advent children bluray directors cut, but they still changed a lot about cloud and the other characters.

I have explained before why and FF7 remake would be far from anything any fans want, I don't want to repeat myself.

Cloud was always weak, what are you talking about? The reason he joined shinra to begin with was to become strong. I think the Crisis Core Cloud is pretty much on the mark. That said, I agree in regards to AC. AC sucks.

I already know what you're saying. Advent Chlidren Cloud was emo for no reason at all. But Crisis Core Cloud was totally fine because Cloud was a pussy pre-Mako.

My problem is tying Nomura to any of this when Nomura didn't even write Advent Children. The person who wrote Crisis Core and Advent Children was Nojima, the same dude who wrote FF7, 8, 10;etc. Nomura didn't write Dirge of Cerberus either.

Basically, stop blaming Nomura's for all of the company's ills without merit when he is quite possibly one of the few good things about S-E now. On gaf lots of people are like,"I hate Nomura for the product he gave us with FF13!" when Nomura had nothing to do with that game outside of character design. So most if not all of your problems with the FF7 compilation should be directed towards Nojima, who is a hack anyways.

Amirox turned a thread about him once again in that thread about condom usage. where he self proclaim as some sort of 'pulling-out expert' until someone remembered that he had made a huge thread about getting his girlfriend pregnant. Those dudes dont realize that they probably are sterile. The only two times I went bareback ended up in two (

) unwanted pregnancies that led to an incredible mountain of drama and pain for both of us; leaks can and do happen and pre-cum can and will get your girl pregnant if she's fertile. Seeing those guys preaching the wonders of pulling out is pissing me off, because theres a lot of teenagers lurking around that could read this and end up in absolute shit. And the two times I pulled out, I pulled out when it was barely getting pleasurable and the session ended with a really long handjob that lasted like 3-4 minutes.

I can't really state enough how much drama it caused for me and my girl; the emotional pain still hurts to this day, and I can feel her getting teary eyes when we hang out with our friends that have kids. It's not that she wants one, its more about the fact that she had two of them growing inside her at some point... Mother Nature decided against that, so we didnt have to do an abortion, but still.. When we drink up , sometimes she starts talking about this; the accidental kids we'll never have..
