I can't speak to recent times but in the past some of the moderators were the worst perpetrators of that sort of stuff including evilore himself. Not to mention the worst of the guys doing it were protected by the mods. But if that's changed then good on them.

It's because they have an actual reason to beg. It sucks when good third party games are confined to shitty consoles. There's no reason to beg for a game to come to PS3 or 360 unless you're poor and/or a fanboy doofus.

So here's something I could never figure out... what was particularly influential about Half Life 2? I played it about a year or so after it came out and yeah, I think it's an extremely polished game (tends to drag in places though... Wasnt HL2 the game that pushed steam onto our PCs? That alone makes it influential (paired with its popularity) regardless of how you perceive the game quality of HL2 to be.

I asked them to explain how the entire sites could be erased and why there were no back ups and it was basically <scoobydoo> RIADUNOOOO </scoobydoo>

luckily i back up manually every now and then so the commercial site at least was largely unaffected.
