He's right that iOS isn't magically intuitive like some Apple dorks make it out to be. You have to learn its conventions like any other system (I've had to give tech support to my mom over the phone just like I would for a PC, and there are still some aspects of it that confuse her). I do think it's generally better designed and easier to learn than Android for example, but it's a matter of degree, not magic vs. muggle.
The main advantage all these smartphone operating systems have over PCs isn't so much that it's easier to use/learn as that it's harder to screw up the system with bad installers or runaway processes or malware etc.
