Total shit show. TA is pretty much taking my stance though. Even in jest bringing kids into the satire/parody mix is usually not a great idea unless they're in on it like SNL or something.

I am in agreement that loli, as in little girls, are off-putting. Feels like a big culture clash to me. Whether it affects a game purchase depends on a lot of things. I wouldn't touch Idolmaster with a 10 foot pole, but Deathsmiles has incidental loli art design. In fact, I don't remember much innuendo in the game. The worst part was the front cover, which made buying it a pretty insecure experience:

The thing is. When disgaea came out no one cared about that shit. Disgaea was popular because it was abstract, had a unique leveling system, unique gameplay (demon court, laws, leveling up shops), and was funny through its use of pop culture nods. The whole sexualization came much, much later I think.

This isnt quite true. This is only one form of popular moe - the imouto archetype. Moe in it's purest form is just the archetype you like, so if you like strong independent women with guns, thats your moe. Moe isnt even an age bracket. Moe in itself isnt a bad term, you have to look at it and see what someones moe is and then start casting boulders at them.

Most anime fans moe seem to take on disturbing forms, but I still try and give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
