Also, some of you all are guilty of severely overestimating what kind of influence the 'hardcore gamer' has in this market. There will be no major reprucussions from not releasing weeaboo games.
edit:
I'm 95 percent sure dqx will be localised, Oscar. DQ9 did 'good' if not 'great'. Square Enix certainly would like to ride the Nintendo marketing machine again, and DQ is one of the few niche franchises Nintendo will stick with to try and sustain that rekationship.
Unlike you, EmCee, and the majority of other Nintendo fans... I don't really give a fuck about how well the company's stock does. I'm not a shareholder, I'm a gamer. And all I want is games, in the genres I like, to come out in the territory where I live.
There are a number of companies who make a living off of games that are
MUCH more niche than stuff like Xenoblade or The Last Story, too, besides. X-SEED localized a game from a series with a bad reputation in the states (due to shitty Bandai-developed ports of games from the 90's), with thousands-upon-thousands of pages of text to translate, on a platform that's in the coffin in America. And managed to make a bit of money off it.
I'm actually predicting the Wii-U is gonna see a major decline in sales from the Wii, due to the casual market leaving in droves for their cellphone games and iPad shit. And due to the typical american dudebro "hardcore" preferring to stick with 360/PS3, or getting the 720/PS4 for much better graphics/online.
