I'm buying Deus Ex Augmented Edition for PC at gamestop, and I bought the New Vegas one there too. Steamworks is nice in that I can get my shame editions and still have a digital copy.

at least with new vegas, they didn't bother unpacking the PC LE or something. one guy was about to send me to another store that had it in stock until a second guy checked and found it.

and I remember back when it was Stop-n-Save Software, they had a PC demo station. Compusa had one too. I played Morrowind on theirs and bought it right after, knowing my PC couldn't run it. Massive upgrade to the 4600. Bid for Power finally had beams instead of error white squares when I did a kamehameha.

I'm sure there are annoying people (i.e. nerds) who work at Gamestop (or really any retail store) but honestly the way people tell these gamestop "horror" stories on GAF are just too much. Is it really that much of a drama to say thanks but no thanks, I want x game for y platform. No I don't want to pre-order z. Here is my credit card. They make it seem like buying something from gamestop is the hardest, most difficult task you could ever do in life.

I honestly have no desire to have an alt there. I mean maybe back in the day when I still was into it and would have got banned for one of their random bs bans but by the end I was actively trying to start shit and get banned. Once that happens I don't really see the point in going back.
