The thing is, this mostly starts in middle school. In elementary school, I had plenty of black friends and we just acted like anyone else. But once middle school started, oh boy, they started to act all "hard" when they're from a suburb town and their parents are fucking doctors or some shit.

Purely anectodal based on my own experiences: I work in poor neighborhoods, so I see a lot of it. I also work in an affluent neighborhood and while I don't see nearly as much of it, it's still there. It's also observed in white and Hispanic kids, so this isn't exclusive to African Americans.

With that said, Scoularis or whatever his name is a dick. Serves him right for getting banned.

I'd say it's more than anecdotal because a good portion of my family isn't exactly well off, and I've been in organizations with people from all over Houston from different socioeconomic backgrounds so I've seen the effects first hand. I'm not discounting that poverty is a contribution, I'm arguing that poverty is not the base contribution.
