Wrath: Then you'd be wrong, because like I've said before there has been documentation of kids even younger that are legitimately transgender. Some even going so far as to want to mutilate their own genitalia. If that doesn't sound like someone trapped in the wrong gender, then I don't know what to tell you. "Seven is too young", then how old should they be? Gender identity doesn't just suddenly appear at puberty. Hell, I knew I was gay since I was six years old. You'd be surprised how young people come to the realization that they are different from other people.
Moral of the story: Kids that age DO understand gender identification. Whether or not they comprehend what that means is up to the child in question. So in other words instead of telling them "lol you're too young to even understand this shit" we should be educating kids who feel this way.
