Then someone posted a caption of a Kotaku "tip" form filled with the sale news. The guy was banned, and all the posts discussing the matter, including his, were deleted lol.

If I remember correctly, his googleplus profile had a picture of a Medusa looking creature and Shanadeus' name was "Tanya Deus."

I also remember him posting on his wall saying something along the lines of, "A lot of people have been asking if I really am a girl. Does it really matter?" He totally left it ambiguous, but I think he's a dude.

So his laying the path for GAF acceptance of Kotaku before selling up to them? That would be something. I would love IGN to buy Gaf just to see the reactions.

I will speak from my experience running a relative "niche" fansite. It was nowhere near the size of GAF at all. During the peak, we made way too much off of Google Ads, far more than we expected and this was 2003-06. In 2004 one of us bought the site some pretty great hosting for five years, and that was like a third of what the site made overall. And we gave away games every year from another third of the funds.

I am more than sure others have far better examples though.

I don't normally complain about tastes, but the way he leads the topic by painting the movies in his terrible tastes order is awful. He flat out says movies by big name directors are must see despite him saying the film is terrible and has received entirely bad press, and then he writes off films with talented staff/casts/buzz because he didn't like a director's past film.

At one point, I called him out for attempting to imply that other sites' scoops were actually his own; he insisted that other sites had "stolen" The Film Stage's scoops, but conveniently couldn't name any of them (probably because they're entirely a news aggregator, and there aren't any.)

Scullibundo isn't a everyman. He is the worst breed of film fans. Those who obsess over directors and love EVERYTHING those directors do and obsessively every passing thought they have and correct everyone about them (for him its mostly Spielberg and Cameron) and then randomly attack other directors and all their films.
