In no particular order

I'm starting to think I chose the wrong friends when I was younger

I want to go back to school but realistically would only be able to afford a class or two at the local community college between time and money at the moment

Despite being a grown-ass man, I'm still caught between my parents in this ridiculous visitation (and child support) dispute over my little sisters that they've been embroiled in for like a decade, both constantly slinging these stupid, empty threats of taking each other back to court

My mom is telling me she might have to walk away from her house payment, meaning I'm going to have to start paying a chunk of that if that's the case because fuck losing the house, meaning I will be living at this goddamn funny farm until I'm 30 because I sure as shit can't count on moving out with any of my friends

Really though, this shit with my friends actually bothers me the most. All the other stuff is the normal whiny stress crap, but this one is constantly in the back of my head. All early to mid 20s, all living with their parents, all jobless (one was in the fucking Marines ffs), none going to school, no aspirations, no plans at all -- and the fucked up thing is that I feel guilty because I was like THE SMART KID when we were growing up and I should have seen this coming since high school. Meanwhile, I just found out a few days back that the only kid to ever give me any academic competition back in the day (and also my ex-best friend. Surprise!) is double majoring in something and something at an Ivy League school and well on his way to a great career, his older brother a year away from graduating from MIT as a nuclear scientist

fuck

Do I win that list up there?

Many of my friends back home are the same way, Optimo. Living at home, don't go to school OR work, playing WoW all day or settling for the lowest common denominator. Of course there's exceptions, but I'm past those fucking losers. I know it sounds crude, but dump them. If you want to be successful or have a future, you don't want to be surrounded by people like that.

The hardest working ones though :bow

work
school

Moved last month. New roommate is a complete asshole. I've never really had to lock my doors with roommates, in part because I tend to carry important stuff with me (wallet, phone, etc) when I go out, and hide other stuff. Came home about a week ago and found him and his girlfriend in my room, on the computer. She was sitting on my bed looking high as hell. I said hello then sat on the bed and looked at them until they left. So yea, I tend to lock my door when I leave the house now.

Still in an odd situation with my best female friend. She wants to move from friend to more, and I'm hesitant. I don't want a gf, especially one who has been a friend for almost a decade.

Is she hot?

What ethnicity?

Pics?

Why not?  Just don't see her that way?  If you two are really close, it might be a great thing.  Never know, dude.

Black. Wouldn't say she's "hot" but she has gotten very attractive over the years. When we first met she was kind of a tomboy type and rather aggressive lol, but now she's cute.

We've been friends for some time, I get the impression that should could be a bit clingy, she's on the "I don't need a man" boat yet still wants a bf...eh dunno

No point in pursuing something you're not enthusiastic about.  If anthing, you'll probably lose enthusiasm/interest over time.

Try a FWB thing.

She's not that type of girl. This is the type of chick your mom asks you about every month, and thinks is the perfect daughter-in-law candidate

I've long since ditched the friends whose primary aspect of life is booze, weed, or pills.  Leeching off of their rich parents, passing out at night after hitting the bars, waking up to go out to the bars again.

Some people say that you're as good as the friends you hang out with.  Sounds about right.

I've been toying with the idea of moving back to the States. The business here is dead in the winter, my dad died instead of doing the planned recovery thing, and there aren't a lot of jobs in my field in the area. But whatever, I can't stomach another major move quite yet.

As for Michigan, I hear they are making things mighty sweet for new businesses at the moment.
