Love this show.  Didn't even know it got a third season until a couple weeks ago.

I like Southland. Watched the first two seasons, but I had no idea that TNT started season three a few weeks ago until Monday. Unfortunately, they don't rerun the episodes and they're not yet on OnDemand, so I'll be DVRing them until I can catch the first part of this season.

I'm quite psyched for this. I like the vengeance angle with what seems to be the main character.

And I liked what I've seen of Southland but I feel like I need to watch it from the beginning. I've only caught the latest episodes.

Bumpity bump bump...

Season 4 premiered last week.

Pretty good episode, but I do worry that the writers are going a bit overboard on their scenarios..... Sherman and Sammy run down a gang shooting....and THEN a psycho comes into the station guns blazing?  How many shootings can Sherman go through?  It's a wee bit absurd, imo.

Lydia's plotline with her distinguished mentally-challenged CI was a predictable drag.


But, a plus was the intro of Lucy Liu 

I guess, in the overall plotlines, the premiere suffered, but its strength is in the little moments.

And fuck, the hardest thing for a cop to watch is a dashboard cam of an officer taking a roadside beating.  Fictional or not, that shit bothers me.  They did a great job of portraying that... 

I also had to watch the chase scene twice to realize that Sherman lied and bullshitted his way out of the confrontation with the backyard gang gathering.  That was a nice touch.

Yes, season 1 was on NBC, but because they are distinguished mentally-challenged, they dumped the show, and TNT picked it up since then.  It has continued to be mostly awesome on TNT.
