The director's cut ending of this ends with GilloD quitting his job in some spectacular fashion, joyfully heading to his new job, where he finds upon arrival the gig was given to someone else (likely an unqualified relative) at the last second. "Please understand" echoes off the walls as the camera slowly zooms in on his wide, disbelieving eyes, then cuts to him begging for his job back at the school, but with more duties and a pay cut.

As the credits roll, we see a shell-shocked GilloD on his hands and knees sullenly scrubbing a toilet, while wearing a shirt that reads "없음 팀 플레이!".

So, I never updated this thread because I GOT A LIFE, but here are a few anecdotes:

So, I ended up not getting the job. Basically, it was almost mine and then some dude had to go renew his Visa and they were like "Oh, interview some more people!" and that was that. So I had to keep teaching.

The other day they gave me a gift. Korean Ginseng Pills. Uh. I know they're expensive, so I said Thank You and brought them home. The next day I come into work late because there are no classes and they're like FRANTIC. This ensues:

"WHERE IS THE GIFT"
"What? The gift? I took it home"
"WHY HOME WHY IS GIFT HOME"
"It's a gift, I brought it home"
"Oh no no no. Oh no"
"What?"
"Principal says no gifts because maybe ti could make some favorite treatment. You must go home and get the gift!"

I gladly obliged, stopped for coffee along the way. It turns out the principal was COLLECTING ALL THE GIFTS AND DESTROYING THEM hahaha.

#2:
So it came out in the news today that our Province (Think: County) didn't requisition ANY MONEY for foreign teachers this year. They were already cutting like 1/3rd of all the teachers, but it turns out they didn't budget a dime. So now they're saying they can't pay anyone past September- We're leaving in August thank god. Classic Korea, someone just decided to unilaterally end the program and they told NO ONE.

Because our new Principal is a crazy bitch (Did I post about she tried to get us to clean the bathrooms?). I left yesterday at like 1:30 because I was like THIS IS DUMMMMMBBBBBBBBBBB and the Principal got super angry about it. So today they were like
"Principal wants to talk to you"
"Principal says you must stay whole working day"
"No, I'm not going to do that. I have things to be doing to prepare for going home to America. I can't stay here"
"She says you must or you will have to take vacation day"
"I have no more vacation days. If you want, you can spend a few million won and rearrange my flight. If you think that's a good idea"

Then:

She tried to give me paperwork to do. They were like "You must stamp every page two times" and it's a stack of like 300 pages. I walked away! Feels great. I feel great.

I am again reminded of the parallels between your experiences and my own teaching...adventures in Japan. I also had a bitch of a vice-principal that would try to get me do shit I didn't need to do or stay when nothing was going on. One time I left during lunch to go buy some food, and she blocked the entranceway and was like "where are you going?!" "Uh...to the convenience store. I don't want today's school lunch." "YOU NEED TO EAT SCHOOL LUNCH." So I just walked right around her and out the door. I'm sure I posted this in one of your threads, but this is the same bitch who blamed me for a laptop getting a virus...even though it happened on a day that I wasn't even there.
