Had the black screen as well. The community manager on BHG's official forums says it's already been fixed in the full game.

Best part though was when I unlocked a suit of armor for Mass Effect 3. MODERN GAMING.

but I suppose a better term could be "Two Worlds / Divinity / Arcania"?

Yeah, that sounds about right. There's lots of stats and skills and loots and it's got a focus on fast-paced combat. Looks like it's going to be a pretty fun game.

Didn't have any problems running it on PC.

Had time to play the 45 minute intro bit.  It's nice that you can skip the tutorial in the demo if you've already played it, but you can also create a new character with all the same loot and experience points to respec and experiment.

actually it's more Diabo/Torchlight (I saw some compare it to WoW but I haven't played that) and Elder Scrolls.  You can't fart in someone's mouth or anything, and the npcs are pretty much there to give you quests or info.  You can kill or pickpocket them, but there's no real interaction past that.  Questing doesn't seem great compared to the quality Skyrim quests.  Quests just seem like an excuse to kill and loot without much story or meaningful context.

I had the black screen problem and I have an ATI card. I turned off post processing and it fixed the issue.

Thanks. That worked for me.

I finished up the demo. You get some kind of Mass Effect 3 Helmet for doing so. I like it but doubt its a instant buy for me. More of a rental or buy when it gets discounted. It does what it does well. The combat is fun. Seeing your weapons in action is cool.

But the thing that elevates Bethesda games to being day one purchases for me is those massive worlds where you feel like you are in a giant environment and you want to explore it. This game doesn't do that and its not a fault because I don't think that's what they were necessarily going for but it does make it feel less special to me.

Same reason why I would never buy a Fable game on day 1 even though this is a lot better than Fable imo.

I do sort of miss the exploration of Skyrim, but I'd be okay with that taken away if I found the environments a bit more powerful. The art of the demo area doesn't feel unique. Even though Skyrim was a grim color palette with a lot of repeated feel, it managed to feel like its own place. The demo area for Amular doesn't pull that off.

I do like chakram magic ninja gameplay. Games need more chakrams and more martial bo staff action.

I tried the demo on my PC and it runs but the entire screen is pitch black except the on screen UI. I have an ATI card.

turn off post-processing. this has been fixed in the final version.

demo is pretty alright...hideous on PC tho...kind of thinking may be better on console.

this game isn't for me. Still, it's nice that playing the demo gave me some gear for Mass Effect 3 (which is why I played the demo).

Technically the game seems very good, and it's nice to look at. Just seems pretty simplistic and girly (like Fable)

yeah, but camp sci fi >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> twee fantasy

basically setting and visuals etc. play a big part in what games I enjoy and what I don't. I've never been much into western fantasy stuff visually, but if the game is solid I'll get into it, like I did with Skyrim. If I'm gonna play some basic hack 'n slash thing it has to at least be doing something interesting with story, presentation, humor etc.

Kingdoms of Amalur seems competent, but ultimately mediocre.

Mass Effect is mainly really funny which is why I enjoy it.
