Crazy Ken would've never let this situation play out the way it did.  Current Sony leadership has been shit for years now.  Everything they do makes me smh.

I mean, it's not that they got hacked that does it for me. It's how they've handled every single part of this. It shows unparalleled ineptitude.

But would it be extreme to stop using their products over this? I'm not sure.

Yeah I do. The hilarity of this whole situation just kinda wore off for me, I feel bad for everyone involved and hope it gets resolved asap. Also I'm still an sfag on the inside :fbm

They're saying even if the online goes back up this week, the store has NO DATE AT ALL.  Which could be a month, two months, three months.

Publishers are going to kill them.  No DLC revenue, no online pass revenue, no PSN game revenue.  If I was a publisher I'd drop future PS3 versions of games unless Sony paid me a large amount of pure cash to make up for this.

Pretty sure they would lose more money by not releasing the games on ps3 than what they are going to lose with this fiasco.

i don't see how it's being a drama queen. sony has handled this horribly. I'm not dropping ps3, because ps3 has a lot of great games and it's a great system. But honestly, Sony has to regain my trust and they're doing horribly at doing so. I'm more than likely to get a ngp, but this is a colossal fuck up, that much is true.

Sony genuinely cares about it's customers and it's customers were looking a little pale and under nourished so they're keeping the network down so we can go outside and maybe grab a falafel with lots of veggies or something.  Friendly neighbor Sony!

I think Sony's communication is just fine.  They were not only virtually depantsed in front of everyone, they also had a Danny Bonaduce sized cock for the world to see.  The more Sony talked about it, the more word would spread.  They'd rather just deal with this quietly, pay out x number of millions to shut everyone up, and move on quickly.

I think it will be longer than six months until people forget.  It will be on the minds of parents when they're buying little Billy a PS3 this Christmas.  Maybe Christmas 2012 they will forget, sure, but I don't think Sony is going to get away with this massive bungling so easy, regardless of how many shitty Kevin Butler ads they shove down our throats.  I don't expect any upgrades for PSN either.  As soon as they can get it up, it will be up.  True to the Sony style, I wouldn't be surprised if they removed some features for legitimate users.

My issue is how Sony handled how long service would be down.  First they said PSN is down for two days.  Then they say another week after telling us of getting hax0red.  Then they see OH YES PSN WILL BE BACK UP THIS WEEK.  Well later this week has come and now Sony says MAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYBBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEE next week.  For me this is getting more annoying than the service being down.  If it was going to be 3 to 4 weeks to get service back up tell us right away.

Well whatever I play most of my games on PC anyway but I do like playing MLB The Show online on PS3.  Need my fix!

some funny quotes

Quote
I've lost my trust in them anyway now, they've done far too much damage. It's like when you look at Kratos and he's this big guy who you admire and think he wouldn't and couldn't be scared or defeated by anything but finding out that behind closed doors he secretly enjoys wearing women's panties or when he sees a spider he screams like a girl and hides behind a bush. Kind of ruins the image doesn't it?

Quote
I also find their attempts at trying to buy people's trust back with rubbish freebies insulting. Kind of like when a guy cheats on a girl and he buys her a diamond ring hoping she'll forgive him, only 4 weeks later he's cheating again and the girl was stupid for getting all starry eyed over the ring.

What do people seriously expect Sony to do to "make it up?  :lol :lol :lol

It's also true that most people complaining are xbots pretending they own a 360 who would rather Sony give them a full day with complete free acess to the PSN Store to get whatever they want. Giving us 4 free games is fucking amazing of Sony. But I guess in Xbot land the only proper way for Sony to apologize would be to fold so the "great" Xbox can live on forever in Mediocre Console heaven  ::) ::) ::)

Poor Sony, they were finally pulling in some profits and then this happened. I don't think there was a worse money-sink the size of the PS3 in all of gaming's history. Scratch gaming, "all electronics"; it's easily in the top 10 or 5, I'm sure.

Or they'll put up the online play and then hold off and do that for the PSN Store.

It fits perfectly with Sony PR and spinning this gen.

bah. You guys are pussies. The hardcore are still down with PSN

Quote
Despite this mess, it appears most PSN users will continue to place their faith in Sony.

While it's plain that we are a PlayStation-oriented site, we have a great many readers who remained educated and opinionated on the subject; this isn't about blind loyalty.

It seems most are discerning and are capable of discarding the sensationalistic headlines and inaccurate, panic-inducing articles from so-called "journalists" who only sought to nab some extra traffic. We've tried to keep you updated and informed on a daily basis; we told you as soon as Sony confirmed a security breach, and we called out Sony for staying quiet for too long. But we did what we could to filter out the stupidity and as a result, educated PSN followers appear ready and willing to return to the Network.

This week, we want to contrast that data with the amount of time you normally spend on the Network (playing games, Store, Netflix, Qriocity, etc.). In other words, this will give us a better idea of how forgiving you are: if you only play a couple hours per week on the PSN, it's easier to forgive Sony, isn't it? If you're really suffering from online deprivation, though, can you still be patient and return to the Network without any grudges? What do you say?
