HEAT, which I haven't watched yet
The premise of the movie rather morbid for an older movie, and the atmosphere it creates is great. This atmosphere is only made better by the writing, which is concise and witty. Impressive. From the first 5 minutes it grabs you and sets up the movie very quickly - yet without rushing.
To me a great movie is made by great acting and this achieves that. Robert Walker's preformance as an insane yet "brilliant" killer is especially striking.
I guess the only issues I had with the movie were due to the movie's age. For instance, planting the lighter as evidence at the crime scene. Wouldn't the fingerprints make Walker's plan irrelevent? I mean, his fingerprints were all on it. And there's a part where the police are questioning the tennis player's alibi and he claims he was on a train at 9:30. They don't believe him, and when his witness can't confirm the story they get suspicious. Well...wouldn't he just have to show them the train ticket/recipt?
Overall I loved it though
