Why in the movie, 50 First Dates, is Callahan Auto referenced from the movie Tommy Boy, which in my understanding had no Adam Sandler in it at all?

In Tommy Boy, Zalinsky is played by Dan Aykroyd and in 50 first dates, the doctor also played by Dan Aykroyd says the hospital is funded by Callahan Auto,  which Zalinsky Auto Parts is trying to buy out.

Why such an obscure reference? Is this Dan Aykroyd's doing!?
