I have no idea, but the previous PS3 HD collections (GoW, Sly) have had platinum trophies for each game, so I'm hoping MS loosens up a bit.

The ZOE "collection" makes no sense.  The first ZOE is complete dog shit, why anyone would want to play that again is beyond me.  Seriously, nostalgic reasons aside, can anyone honestly say that they actually liked ZOE1?   The only reason people bought it back in the day was to get the MGS2 demo.

I'd rather they just dump that turd and put their time and money into ZOE 2 HD.

I never played ZOE but ZOE2 is hot. Maybe they'll redo ZOE and make it better like with Tomb Raider Anniversary

I remember enjoying ZOE and not getting why people hated on it so much. The eye candy was HOT and will be even hotter with the HD collection. As for the MGS shits, the 360 one will be like 30 discs.  MGS3DS  Do not care AT ALL about the Silent Hill collection, but will probably buy anyway.

Also, if MercurySteam is developing this new Contra jump-off, it will be 7,000 hours long and gorgeous yet completely fucked on almost every level.

All of these announcements have slightly redeemed Konami for me... SLIGHTLY. Dat Platinum Rising is gonna be hot though, or has that been long confirmed as not happening?

who knows right now.  every other rumor that came with that 'platinum working on rising' rumor turned out wrong, and during the konami thing, they were coy and just said rising would be in 2012, and kojima kinda denied it.  but maybe?

good news for MGS3 on the HD collection is that it will be 60 fps (MGS2 was already 60 fps).  Porting is done by the group that worked on the the God of War HD games.

and MGS2, MGS3 and ZoE2 are all the special/later editions.  So, Substance, Subsistence, and Anubis (I have no idea what this last one is)

i finished it so i assume i enjoyed it enough to play through it. Though i don't remember going nuts about it.

I finished it too but only because there wasn't anything really worth playing during the first 9 months or so of the ps2. I absolutely hated it, especially the kid that was driving that freaking robot. So annoying. It was technically impressive at the time but that's about the only good thing I can say about it other than it was the bonus material to the mgs2 demo.

ZOE2 however was the shit.  I'm definitely interested in a HD remake of that.

ZOE HD Collection will include the content of Anubis Special Edition.

The Anubis Special Edition was never released in the US and it has new content (new VR missions, levels, orbital frames for VS mode, difficulty modes ) along with graphical and performance improvements! Even if you already own ZoE2 you should get this version so you don't miss out on all the new content Japan got last gen.

Most MGS fans might agree that, but the similarities are too deep and too numerous to be coincidence.  Maybe Tappy figured it was so old that it was public domain, maybe he just thought he'd never be caught, but nobody without an investment in the franchise would brush off the similarity between those two pieces.

In any case, I don't think konami would ever licence the song. That would pretty much be an admission of guilt and a slight against Tappy, who might not have done anything wrong to begin with.

Snake Eater is one of my favorite games ever. MGS3 Subsistence was actually going to end up on the OG XBox, but Microsoft decided to kill the system and move on to the 360.
